tModLoader Licenses - Unlock items as you progress

I dont know if anyone told that,but calamity Erase the mod,what i mean is that it make it useless,it make it so we can use everything
but something was in my mind,am i supposed to get PP only the first time i kill a boss?

Alright, I'll see if I can fix this issue. Thanks for reporting it.

There's a setting to allow 'grinding' for multiple kills of any given boss to get further PP, by the way. Otherwise, you're only supposed to get PP the first time.

Basically, a sort of limited usage challenge with some tactical decisions from the choice at start. Nothing with bullet sponges and OP bosses for stupid difficulty. Just a simple trick yet enough to give a nice challenge while staying fair. Like the Lunatic

I mean like you start, you are shown 6 different licenses completely random from all of them. And you could choose only 3 from these 6.
No additional licenses.

Well, choices need the items on hand. If you mean full-random presets, that would take some extra doing (though doable via API, also). The remaining 3 free-to-use licenses can just be set by configuration.

I recall hearing mention a few times now of wanting a UI for the mod, also. I'll consider adding one if someone can try out the current version and give me some more feedback on the current state.
 
just killed the wall of flesh in a world and after rearranging the houses for these picky merchants i managed to get the wayfarer to open up shop but...he seems broken.

like, i can click and add license packs to my inventory but it doesn't subtract from my PP nor can i use the packs in any way.

Could you send me your Logs.txt file? You can find it inside the Documents/My Games/Terraria/ModLoader/Logs folder. Alternatively, submit an issue report via the Mod Helpers in-game control panel (the top-left icon) when you notice the issue. That'll help me fix it.
 
sure and...that's odd. i checked the log myself just now after opening the wayfarer's shop to see what the problem is and...

i guess it's not recognizing him as a merchant NPC or something.

edit: o_O i just tried it again after moving more NPC's away from his house and suddenly he works now.

i dunno why but these merchants don't like being housed near each other.

ok, i see what i was doing wrong now in regards to purchasing licenses and how to use random licenses. you don't simply purchase them from the wayfarer but rather, you take a pack then put them in your shortcut bar and they're used automatically when the slot they're in is highlighted (active or in use).

i can get the random licenses to work but i don't see how to get the normal licenses to work.

this seems like a really cool addition for a heavily modded game, especially unlocking random items with hope that they would be usefull.
I didn't test that as I am building modpack for my new walkthrough but I have few questions.
Does it remove locked items from crafting menu? If not, it would be very convenient
Does it work for modded items?
Does it work with magic storage (which have its own crafting interface)?
Is it meant to be used by other modders (like library) or it works out of box?

1. Not by default. You'll need to set the config setting `FreeRecipes` to false for that.
2. Should.
3. Haven't tested. Don't see why not, if it respects vanilla crafting.
4. Works out of the box. It does have a few dependency mods, though. Click the ! button in the mod list next to the Licenses mod entry to download them.

First of all, I have to say that I absolutly love your mods, they make the game much more challenging and interesting and are a must have for every playthrough of mine, but as much as I love the concept of having to buy licenses to use items, I can't get this mod to work. I tried it with and without other mods, but the result is always the same - when i start the game, it doesn't load which items are licensed or not, meaning i can use everything like without the mod. But when i type Show Filters, everything is there, it even adds and saves the item unlocked through licenses, its just that it somehow doesnt lock or unlock anything. Sometimes when I type Defaults Reset it enables the mod, but this also resets my progress and doesn't work most of the time, and next time I load my character the effect is gone again anyways, so its possible to work, at least in theory. I hope you can help me here, as this seems to be a really cool mod. Anyways, thanks for all the great mods you made, I hope they stay for a long
time and I'm very excited to see what you make in the future. Also, sorry for my bad english. Well, thanks for your time, have a nice day! :)

Yeah, this mod has been acting weird lately. It's very fishy IMO.

Can you report what /nih-show-filters reveals? A full list should be generated in your Logs.txt file.

It looks normal to me, but surely I'm no expert. I hope this helps. The Slime Additions in the NPC Blacklist are a leftover from Critter Craze,
everything else (Player, World, Settings) is brand new and default. I really can't imagine what's causing this issue, but maybe I am just blind.
The only thing that got my attention are the Could not find IP messages, but maybe thats just because I'm offline. Anyways, thanks for your
quick reply, I really appreciate your help.

Edit : Wait a minute...that Display Class thing (GET Request unsuccessful), what is this? Could this be the culprit? I didn't notice that line before

It looks normal to me, but surely I'm no expert. I hope this helps. The Slime Additions in the NPC Blacklist are a leftover from Critter Craze,
everything else (Player, World, Settings) is brand new and default. I really can't imagine what's causing this issue, but maybe I am just blind.
The only thing that got my attention are the Could not find IP messages, but maybe thats just because I'm offline. Anyways, thanks for your

Edit : Wait a minute...that Display Class thing (GET Request unsuccessful), what is this? Could this be the culprit? I didn't notice that line before
The net stuff isn't consequential: The 2 google urls are for a snapshot of the mod browser and mod tags, respectively. IP checks are for the old Server Browser mod, which may or may not be instated, with modifications.

See if typing /nih-off and then /nih-on changes anything. Also, try setting DebugModePerItemInfo for Nihilism (in the config), and tell me what any given item that should be locked is saying.

Unfortunately, Nih-off and Nih-On did nothing. Enabling DebugModePerItemInfo shows for most items that they are nihilated per group "Any Item" and most of them
also show "Any Dye", some of them, like Cactus Stuff, show their respective additional filters. Nothing seems wrong here, everything looks right - and yet, it doesnt work.
Hm....i wonder if we find a solution for this, but it seems more and more unlikely. I wonder whats causing this problem, I really want to find out, but I guess there is little
we can do now, or can we?

I'll try to replicate the issue shortly. Did /nih-off and /nih-on show anything in the chat?
