IC Limbo.

You don't know how. You don't know why. You passed out for seemingly no reason, and now you're here.
A grassland that stretches on forever, with the occasional forests, ponds, and lakes. Animals appear to live here, too.
There is no real day/night cycle. Sometimes, the sun turns into the moon, and vice versa. Neither move, they just stay overhead.
Life is like this forever, or is it?
You must find a way out. But you cannot do it alone, can you?
This is where limbo begins.
No god modding.
Combat uses a D20 format, similar to other roleplays. However, you can request to change your dice format at any time (Min 5 Max 120)
No insanely overpowered characters.
Follow TCF rules.
Don't cheat in combat, it'll ruin the fun.
Don't make OCs specifically as an addon to another OC.
You can have as many OCs as you can handle.
Have fun! (I specifically demand it)

At any point, in underground/hidden areas, the DM/people entrusted with the ability to summon chests can make your character find one. The loot tends to be useful, with certain items being rarer than others. I may or may not make a table of items, their usage & their "rarity".
Whilst underground, you're very likely to find ores. The DM/people entrusted with the ability to summon ores can make your character find one. They all have different names and abilities, and to find out about that, you must find a Geologist's Guide to Rocks (Either a normal or the rarer "limited edition" variant), which is common loot from chests. Usually it'll be in the first chest someone without one finds whilst underground, as I only made it as an IC way for the names/uses of the ores to be discovered.
Rooted Corruption is an infection of sorts that can take control of most sentient beings, essentially possessing them and making them act more aggressively and attempt to corrupt other beings around them when possible. It mainly spreads through projectiles (Primarily magic projectiles), but has other ways to corrupt as well, the most common being a spike of pure corrupted energy. These hurt really badly if the target is immune to the corruption.

Known cures are, among others, special materials when used for weapons, fully upgraded Light Magic (Radiant Magic), and a water imbuement given by Falchion.
Temporary cures (mostly used for stalling until a proper cure is available) include the other forms of light magic (Standard, Crystalized, and Mirage), the Hallow’s power, and Fairy-type Pokémon moves. Technically it’s possible to resist the corruption’s effects, but this should always be done carefully to avoid losing control of one’s actions entirely until cured.

It is not related to Terraria’s corruption biome. It hates being associated with the corruption and considers it pathetic.

There’s a central hivemind that gives out orders when needed, and each corrupted being has its own thoughts and can communicate with the victim’s own mind.

Corrupted areas seem to be completely dark all the time, like a Minecraft lighting bug hit the area.

OOC: Players can choose to make their characters immune if they wish to do so, just know that corrupted attacks will deal increased damage if they choose the option.
It’s recommended to have a slightly different text color while corrupted, it’s the player’s choice whether to make it lighter or darker than their usual color. (Personally I lighten it when possible, only darkening if the usual color is already bright.)

Permission is to be asked before infecting or curing, to account for possible plans a player may have involving a character being corrupted at a specific time/for a specific amount of time.
It's fine to have a character auto-dodge attacks that would corrupt or cure at the wrong time. Just state why the roll is being skipped.

On corruption, a roll for resistance can be made (recommended with D20). At a 1, the victim is in no way capable of even influencing their actions while corrupted. At a 20, it’s the other way around and the corruption can’t do anything.

(Guess i'll start.)
Chis forms and emerges out of a small, very nice pond.
...Where am I?
Chis gets up before looking around, seeing no one and nothing for what appears like forever, with no signs of human interaction.
...Wherever I am, I'm probably the first one here.

Nicknames (Optional): Cole, teeth

Gender: male, he/him

Text Color: 539759

Appearance: a large, mostly black bipedal bug like creature. Stands on two legs and wears a duster coat and wide brimmed hat.

Personality: stern, robust and sometimes mischievous and hides his emotions most of the time.

Equipment (Optional): hard exoskeleton, a black and silver colt navy walker revolver modded to fire cartridges named Gereg, a brass Remington model like wise named Vryheid, a laser lever action rifle named Sunburst, a duffle bag holding ammunition and rope. [Thank you @Cryogenesis!]

Theme (Optional): Tumbleweed Town.

Backstory (Optional): it is unknown how he was created, and he himself theorizes his parents were mutalated bugs. He was born (hatched?) in a desert and grew up learning life the hard way.

Abilities: can shoot acid out of his forearms. This does cost him some blood and takes time and food to recharge.

Strengths: climbing, intimidation, lacks care for self image and cannot feel humiliated, is resistant to blunt damage.

Height: 7’4

Weight: 120 kg

Exploitable flaws: a large lizard (he claims it was a dragon) bite down on his lower left leg sometime ago and now his lower left leg’s exoskeleton is cracked and weak. Due to being an outcast, he is slow to trust and if he does trust someone, he will rely on them too much, making betrayal devastating for him. Pricing damage. His exoskeleton is good for resisting swords and bullets to a stage, but a significantly small object hitting his large exoskeleton repeatedly is going to be a problem.
Extra (optional): He is a bug cowboy man. )

Equipment: Rope. Lots of it.. Wields a whip as a weapon.

Theme: (Don't really know what you mean by this...)

Backstory: The (Former) god of Rope in terraria. The first miner who used rope placed it upon an ancient altar, destroying it, and in it's place stood The Rope God.

Abilities: Can conjure some amount of Rope! Can control rope, although not very well anymore. Can float exactly 2.445 inches off the ground. Can also cook killer omelettes.

Strengths: Literally unable to feel fear. Surprisingly good with a whip. Knows 32,667 different ways of tying rope.

Height: 6'2'

Weight: 184 pounds

Exploitable flaws: Somewhat selfish. Will brag about himself until the cows come home. Has a huge ego and can't stand when something is better than him. Has Batrachophobia, or fear of amphibians, for no real reason.

Extras: Lost most of his power upon waking up, including, but not limited to: teleportation, full flight, conjuring unlimited rope, and going into an incorporeal form.
If there's anything you object to, just tell me and I'll change it.

It's good as long as he never regains his abilities to teleport and go incorporeal.
(By theme I meant music.)

He's not able to, ever, if he's outside of his home dimension at all. And... Doesn't really have a theme...
If anything I'd say Tagtree thicket from Pokemon Scarlet, mostly because I can't think of anything else that isn't just a boss theme from another game.

The Rope god falls out of a nearby tree, and stops, hanging, suspended in the air feet first by Rope attached to a branch.
What? Huh? Where am I! This is NOT where I took a nap!

*Punches rock he’s buried under and crawls out*
What in the name of slugs below in this place?
*he puts his hat on and looks around for a place to set up a camp*

What was that sound?
*He awkwardly flails, still hanging upside down, failing to turn around. Giving up, he cuts the rope attaching him to the tree with a flick of his wrist and falls face first on the ground.*
Who's there? Reveal yourself!

Riolu suddenly appears, notices Rope yelling, and thinks that the rope is yelling at him.

Name: Solitarus Excavation, Assembly, and Reconstruction Division, Minimized Mining Unit
Nicknames (Optional): SEAR-MMU. Just MMU works too.

Gender: Robot (it/its pronouns ig)

Text Color:
#E25041

Appearance:
1731029312055.png

Take the guttertank from ultrakill (the image above) as a rough basis. The MMU Is an angular, heavily plated black and dark grey machine, plates very worn and visibly aged, although this does little to affect their integrity. The machine has a left arm with a regular hand. It's right arm from the elbow down is elongated without a hand, some sort of half-drill bit composing the bottom half of the arm. It has digitigrade legs with beefy pistons. It's front features an extension from its angular plates in which a small, swiveling rectangular head, a red oculus in the middle, resides, almost built into the torso itself... As for the minimized part, this unit stands at a whopping 18 inches tall.

Personality:
Firey, energetic, and always ready to kill something.. or otherwise cause collateral damage.

Equipment (Optional):
None, all integrated systems.

Theme (Optional):

Backstory (Optional): WORKPLACE INCIDENT.

Abilities:

HARVEST: The drill arm of the MMU engages, heating up with Coral to create a rather potent mining tool.. or perhaps, a solid melee weapon?

CLEAR: The MMU's top compartment can open every so often (every other attack post), to deploy a Coral-based impact grenade, detonating upon contact with whatever it hits. Due to its hilariously small size, it seems hardly more potent than a regular grenade, the only real difference being the heat produced in the explosion from the Coral.

SHELTER: The MMU can fold its limbs and head into its torso, armor plating covering its exposed joints. This feature is intended for cave-ins whilst mining, but it seems to provide good defensive benefits.. (the machine can forgo a turn of attacks to enter this state, in which all of its defensive rolls will be boosted by +5, but the machine will remain unable to attack.)

Strengths:
The unit's small size makes it a rather difficult target. It has a moderate amount of firepower for its tiny size, much more impressive in its deconstruction capabilities. Despite being so small, it seems designed for mobility and strength.. at full size. In it's smaller state, it still packs quite a punch, able to carry or move things many times its weight, like an ant of sorts. Its pistons allow it to leap immense distances.. for being so small. About 10 feet is pretty impressive when you're shorter than 2 feet tall.. It can also run immensely fast.. for being a short bipedal machine, able to match the speed of someone of normal stature at a slow jog.. perhaps it may need some help in that department..

Height:
18 inches / 1 1/2 feet / 1/2 meter

Weight: 60 pounds.

Exploitable flaws:
Despite being essentially a small brick, pretty agile for its tiny size, and rather capable of a combatant, the MMU's lack of communicative functions and tiny size make it rather hard for the machine to survive isolation.

Extras (Optional):
This is a borderline :red:post character I'm so sorry.

*sees some people in the distance.*
Hmm, perhaps I should introduce myself.
*Feels if he has enough venom in wrists before walking towards Riolu and Rope God, and tips his hat as he approaches.*
