So, I find torches annoying to use and so does chippy gaming. So, my suggestion is simple. Imagine the an ungravitated rainbow gun, but it doesn't do damage/knockback and gives off as much light as a torch down its entire trail. It would be sold by the Wizard for 20 gold.
