I somehow ended up with two mechanics in my dungeon.
This happened on a large world without the Water Candle effect if either of those things matter.
As for how the second mechanic functions, she was able to move into a house from the dungeon. However, there is only one mechanic icon in the housing list (corresponding to the first mechanic) and the second mechanic will not move into other houses if her current one is invalidated, or even move back into her current house if it becomes valid again. However, while testing the paragraph below, I built a second house directly above the one she initially claimed, and she moved into that one for some reason.
I tested how happiness levels were affected by having two mechanics in the same town, so I moved my Goblin Tinkerer to where the second mechanic (Ginger) was, in the desert. Under these conditions, the goblin tinkerer sells a desert pylon for 8 gold 40 silver, and in his happiness dialogue, refers to Ginger the mechanic as Lauren (which is the name of the first mechanic). Nothing appears to change if both mechanics are near the goblin tinkerer.
Since this bug doesn't affect the goblin tinkerer's happiness (and by extension, his prices), this probably isn't a very important bug, but I'll report it anyway.
