This is what Safeman has already said in this thread.

It is exclusively Steam right now, but other platforms may be considered in the future. Nothing official on what/when or anything like that, but there is possibility there. It is a popular suggestion, for sure!

i've had this on my wishlist for a hecka while when it was being shown as "will release in # days" xD and i'm a fan of terraria, wish i could get my comp to play starbound with better frames since the 1.0 release on that, and i love the screenshots this community posts. also grats on the copies sold thing. can't wait for otherworld either! here's hoping you guys deliver with the same exceptional qualities you guys did with terraria!
