Which is also a skeleton. A skeleton locksmith. It spawns in the dungeon.

Locks and keys gave me a life which other monsters coveted.

My locks are better than yours. Show me more keys.
I hid myself well from the living to spend more time with my keys.
A kind old man gave me my hat. I was mildly curious in what or who he might be.

Functions
He provides a buff that'll last 20 min for 10 gold.

Great concept! I don't love the door emblem, but the idea is great. Did you sprite him? Its a great sprite :)

Sadly, it's just tweaking of existing terraria sprites but I guess it looks alright.
 
I love the idea of creating my own dungeon with these padlocks and keys - my only question though, are only the blue padlocks, chains and keys consumable or did you just not write in the rest? I'd like maybe at least two colours to be consumable but that's just my personal opinion. I think it's a fantastic idea, not 100% on the sprite of the locksmith but I don't have an alternative design.

Yeah all of the locks and keys are consumable but they all serve the same purpose so your idea ain't bad. I might have to update this thread later on.

Thinking through, this npc is unneeded dun know if anyone would want to lock their own chests and doors besides in adventure maps.

Oh @divebat how is it like the mechanic? Wires and keys are separate things.

Though I imagine the "gold keys" he sells don't work on the locked chests that spawn naturally in the dungeon?
 
I really like this idea, although I don't think adding an entire NPC is necessary. Support nonetheless!
