Speculation: if stardust got a new whip, what did the other classes get?

I agree with the magic guns, I don't think melee will get a sword either, but there is definitely already a lunar-tier rocket launcher, perhaps a blowgun?

now i'm thinking this would be ideal:
solar: boomerang (there are no endgame-level boomerangs, possessed hatchet is too underpowered despite the homing)
vortex: blowgun or flamethrower (in both cases there are only 2 of them in the entire game!)
nebula: magic gun (lunar-tier space gun, anyone?)

Sergeant United Shield does 92 damage at BASE, and it can parry + target 3 enemies in one throw, plus it's available through all of Hardmode rarely from the TM.
Possessed Hatchet does 90 damage + fast throwing speed and homing, so to be honest it's close enough to lunar tier weapons that I'd probably use it for Moonlord.
Mage is already damaging enough with only two lunar tier weapons, mostly because of the HUGE defense cut caused by Bestsy's Curse and Ichor, so it really doesn't need another weapon.
The one thing I do agree with is Ranger, which could benefit from more blowguns and flamethrowers. That said I still wouldn't make them lunar tier because they're just not the right weapons for the job.
 
I think a sword isn't needed for solar. Solar Eruption, technically speaking, is a sword: it is a chain segmented whipsword, and the internal name also calls it "SolarWhipSword". While it is functionally not a sword, thematically it is, so I think Solar would not get a sword.
It wouldn't get a spear either, Daybreak exists.
I'd say Solar needs a boomerang.

Vortex needs a Flamethrower in my opinion. A blackhole themed flamethrower would do the job. Not a Launcher because I think Snowman Cannon is already really good.

Magic weapons are too varied to categorize, so can't speak something about it.


Also, the weapons need go fit the aesthetic. Daybreak for example fits the aesthetic of the Solar: Drakanians and Drakomire Riders (two solar pillar enemies) hold the Daybreak spear, as an example.
 
Ranged will get a rocket launcher. Hoping it's some chernobog from GTA/hurricane from DRG monstrosity where it fires a volley of 50 rockets towards your cursor. It's either that or some kind of mortar cannon. Anything that occupies the niche of rockets. Mage will get another magic gun, seeing as guns are somewhat lacking in that point of the game. Melee might get a boomerang weapon or yo-yo, but there's already the EOC, Kraken, and Terrarian. Though I hope to see some kind of flamethrower weapon.
 
I doubt there would be a solar yoyo as the EOC yoyo is already very powerful especially when paired with the yoyobag and flasks ( though a new yoyo which has a special effect wouldn’t be the worse).

A dart gun would be better for lunar tier,
Why?
Lunar tier weapons are designed to be ranged enough to attack the moon lord, so a flamethrower (typically a short range weapon) wouldn't fit as well.
I still do think there needs to be more of the two anyway...

my ideas that im making up right now

solar: yoyo that's based off those guys from the solar pillar that jump at you curled up in a ball
vortex: rocket launcher
nebula: laser gun
 
solar-->either a yoyo that is like a corite
