I think that this (or something like this) should be added. The cyber would be the perfect foil for the crimson. It would also make having multiple worlds more fun as you would need the other world for more things. I for one am all for adding the Cyber biome. It would need some tweaking however as a few of the weapons seem a bit op. If it were added I would be so freaking hyped.

Yes, make this official. We need a correct counterpart to the Crimson. The Hallow is only suitable for the Corruption, also I'd love to see Tobbvald's Covert and Contagion in the game too, the extra biomes are just begging to be explored. I wish we could band together and get these fantastic ideas implemented somehow.
 
I had a nerdgasm from reading this. And I normally hate reading.
The only thing I don't completely agree with is the visual effects of some blocks and mobs, as well as the new idea to make hallowed bars.
Already, the armor effects kind of annoy me, and being on mobs would be worse. Maybe there should be an option to remove those effects in the options menu...

May I also add, I love the whole "seven deadly sins" reference you made there, but as soon as I was reading the crafting recepies, the whole detailed design of each of the cores confused me. To be honest, I thought you would need boss masks to make that stuff!

Finally, you girls can prance around with your pixies and unicorns and :red2:. While I'm going to be having the most fun man can have vs machine in the Cyber! Rocking out with a guitar and a probe being my personal spotlight!
I think this is my favorite response to this thread thus far if simply for that last paragraph.

More biomes means more loot diversity. I for one am all for loot diversity. I love having tons of different stuff to choose from. It makes each experience with the game more unique and fun!
 
Well, if I was in charge I know what I'd be work on implementing right now.

I really like the more mechanical enemies, items and gear, the lightning-related weapons, and all the other stuff you've presented here. You've spent so much effort on sprites and descriptions that I can actually imagine what it would be like to experience these things in-game.

Yes please. Hallow needed a replacement since Crimson was introduced. Also nice that you already made all sprites, and some Crimson counterparts of Corruption items. Hope this will be added in 1.3. Good luck!
 
I saw this on the old forums, and it has only gotten better. I love the new Wrath of the Gods sprite, because honestly the previous one was horrible. Also I like the Shadow Chest alternate and the creative way Spatial Instability is contrasted with Chaos State. I really hope this gets in the game.
 
This really does fit in with the whole crimson thing- chaos and life versus a sterile, orderly environment. Again, the new crafting recipe for hallowed bars isn't something I agree with, but the rest of the idea? FREAKING EPIC!!!1!!1111!1jaguar!!!1!

Have I kept your interest this far? Good, now I can tell you some of the more technical changes.


All non biome specific crafting recipes would work with their alternate items. For example Greater healing potions could be made with Miracle Fuel and a Beam Reactor.


I included a core for the destroyer. This would be possible to get (and make it possible to get things like the Megashark in crimson or the Chainsword in corruption)


If you bring Cyber & Crimson over to over to a Hallowed & Corruption world the enemies will drop their respective souls. If you bring Hallowed & Corruption in a Cyber & Crimson world they will do the same with cores.


The Dryad has some slightly different lines in crimson and cyber worlds. being more about restoring the world to total purity rather than hallow.


The Drax and Pickaxe Axe require Souls of Blight to craft.


Spatial Instability

cause: Holding space and down while equipped with Spatial Instability Device.

* while in effect the player is transparent I.E. Spectre armour, they also create lots of particles of the same look as the Nanites flask.


Also, the Phasesabers need unique looks to tell them apart from phaseblades. Instead of recolours would all get unique sprites:

Ok, I REALLY like this thread, this is an awesome and good idea, but now a small detail my OCD is pointing out: Headgear should be magic, Helmet for ranged, the Mask for melee. Sorry, that just bugs my OCD xD But I love this idea, I hope it gets some dev attention later on.

What I think would be funny IF the Cyber was added is a Mega Man weapon. Considering Mega Man (or X) is (or are) a robot (sort of :3) kind of feels like a MM item would belong here. But, I'm just saying!

To me it seems more like robotropolis from Sonic the Hedgehog. So this would go pretty well with it.
 
100% Support! This is probably the best Hallow Alt suggestion I've seen. Hope this gets implemented - That lightning gauntlet is just pure win! :D
