well somehow the generator did this: (used clentaminator to show its not surface only, also had no torches at the time. (no TEDIT or anything it actually did this...)

So in another thread I said I'd try a mostly yo-yo only playthrough...
Well, THIS happened about 20 minutes in:
Found a Pyramid that was barely visible (the very top sandstone block was underneath two sand blocks, and it was barely visible, good thing I was paying attention!).
Said Pyramid had enough gold in its treasure room for me to buy the counterweight from the Skeleton Merchant I found in the chamber just underneath the Pyramid.
Also, you'll notice I already have a White String... about 5 minutes in, started right next to a cave. Took this cave down, and there was a cabin that had a loom and a bunch of cobwebs just below the underground depth, lol.
Also, in this same playthrough... just after the White String cabin, found another cabin with exactly 15 Topaz next to it and the cabin itself had an anvil in it, lol.
So, 45min and I got...
160 Health (I found two heart crystals after this screenshot)
White String
Counterweight
Gold Pickaxe
Enough gold to make Gold Axe
Cloud in Bottle
Emerald Hook
And everything else you see in that screenshot above.
Not bad for 45min.
EDIT: I'll also note, I didn't even build a house yet.

Yeah, my first impression of the game wasn't too good, so I started another world, and now my eyes have nearly dried out due to extended time away from the outside world...Well, this one anyways!
BTW, This is a new char that I made to illustrate/document this world.
Did the Crimson spawn right next to spawn? That's REAAAALLY unlucky.

Well, even MORE luck in my new Yo-Yo Playthrough...
On the Extreme right, we have the Pyramid that I mentioned in my previous screenshot post. Now, look on the extreme Left. ANOTHER Pyramid that is right on the edge of the Jungle.
Well, on the way down I found a Staff of Regrowth and a Boomstick which I did not use (but it did spawn the gun NPC before I even killed EoC).
But the biggest thing? On my way down, I killed two man eaters (takes forever to kill something that has 110 HP with 1-2 damage from a wooden yo-yo), one of which dropped a vine. Two Spiked Jungle Slimes and a hornet dropped a stinger each. And, on the very bottom where that water was, I found a couple Jungle Spore spawns.
About 1.5h into the playthrough (some of the time was spent making houses), I have an Amazon and full Gold Armor. I think the EoC is gonna get whupped.

I had butchered twice earlier. The first summoned the lunatic by killing the devotes in the dungeon, then the second KILLED the lunatic.
I didn't take notice of this at all and was close to my spawnpoint when it happened, so I didn't see any of the pillars. So, when I did a /butcher to get rid of some stuff outside my home, it butchered all four pillars that were just kind of sitting there for half an hour, and summoned the impending doom. Kind of the endgame version of accidentally awakening the Wall of Flesh.
