What is your favorite class in Terraria?

I’m in the midst of a single player mage playthrough. And while it’s cool to have a weapon for every purpose…I like to be able to actually survive more than 3 hits from a common master mode enemy.

Main issue is Mana Stars tbh, I already had enough with Thorium Bard
 
I'm a madman who likes and plays all classes equally, even if they aren't all balanced equally atm

They’re all equally balanced, just depends on your playstyle. I like being able to run up to foes, do a lot of damage, and then run away and heal (melee)

Ranger is consistent damage and safe-ish range.

Mage is a glass cannon with a weapon for every scenario.

And summoner is essentially just being the mob boss that lets his cronies do the dirty work while he fires off some gats.

True I guess, but summoner definitely needs some work, and mage can be a bit annoying, plus I suck at playing ranger.

Regardless, I like all of them.
 
melee because haha zenit goes brrrr, but i don't hate any of them, they're all epic in one way or another

melee: as mentioned above: quickscope enemies with flying swords outta nowhere
ranged: become the A-10 Warthog yourself, and BRRRRRRRRTTTTT up anything and everything
magic: IMMA FAARIN MA LAYZAR *BWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEMMMM*
summon: giant dragon strangles your enemies while you also slap them
 
what are those, tell us. And if you tell some long ranged ones, just know that not everything long ranged has to be ranged.
Zenith, Daybreak, enchanted sword, Influx Waver, Meowmere, Shadowflame Knife, Vampire Knifes. I definitely want these to stay as melee weapons, it's just kinda weird how these absolutely do not fit the definition of melee

Zenith is made from Swords (and looks like a Sword), Daybreak comes from the melee pillar and is a spear, Enchanted sword Sword, Influx waver and Meowmere are all swords (that shoots projectiles) and Vampire Knives fits to the melee class' tanky playstyle (since healing yourself goes perfectly with the highest defense). The only one I might agree is Shadowflame knife, but I think its a weapon like that to make the early hardmode easier for the Melee class (since mechs and Queen slime are basically mortal enemies of close range combat).

By the way, when I said everything long ranged doesnt have to be ranged I tried to say that not everything long ranged has to have ranged damage. Because if that was the case shouldnt you make every mage weapon have ranged damage and make boomerangs ranged weapons? Yeah it doesnt make much sense.

Dont worry, they will. Aside from the removal of Throwing damage, they never changed the damage type of weapons, so if they want a weapon to fit more into the playstyle of the class they can just rework it.

All I'm saying is that they technically don't fit the definition the word melee but it doesn't matter
 
I like Summoner because Summoner is the best class for building, fishing, because the minions and sentries can just protect you. ( BTW I like building ) Also hope they bring the fire lunar pillar whip to summoner. IDK why they didn't add it to summoner that should have all the whips.
 
Summoner doesn't offer much in the early game, but has the potential to take off once hardmode starts. It's great for getting enemies off your back when you're trying to reel in all those crates for Sokoban fish for the angler, or trying to make the ultimate fortress of doom expand your current building options. Mage has good damage potential but it boils down to your options concerning mana efficiency and regen, but has potential to be up there once you're set.

I try for summoner when I can, except when I have bingo targets that expressly commands otherwise.%:)
