    Appreciation post for the video game franchise F-Zero. I have been obsessed with it since at least mid-late-2017, stopped playing around late 2019, and returned around mid-2023.

    also, new nerf in Hypernova in the meantime: the Black Vortex (the thing that controls Zenith until Omnision's defeat) is now an incompetent :red:up that struggles to do anything it wasn't "designed" to do in spite of its intelligence being mostly unchanged from older versions
    this makes the power-upscaling even more gradual, lasting all the way until the massive developments under Europa's surface during the Nadir attacks, where the BV realizes it can just make a digital copy of itself, store that inside Zenith's body and modify its own parameters there, and the BV can just sit there idly for a while (i've also figured out a way to use this to create some tension during the ending but that won't fit in the 1000 character limit)

    aha! the secret fourth book, OC Lore From Listening To Various Music And Imagining AMV's With Them Doing Cool Stuff is so big you can feel its gravitational pull!

    (but actually i do that in my dreams too, so... UY Scuti and Stephenson 2-18, eat your core out, the book's bigger than the largest stars we know of)

    more developments in Hypernova's concept text, we get some tension now, though it'll be tough to compress this so i don't fall into "writing something in 3 pages even though it could be written in just one page" syndrome like in so many pieces of literature — this is still the exposition dump, for crying out loud
    as with the previous parts (a few posts below this), the numbers are simply section dividers for me to get a better overview of things, and are not indicative of chapters

    forgot to say this, but i've started doing my driver's license test thingy recently, it's going well, theoretical stuff only for now
    today (literally a few minutes before posting this) i successfully completed a first aid test, which is required for the standard "B-class" (≈ automobile up to 3500kg) license in Hungary
    why i actually wrote this post: while studying for said first aid test i realized just how :red:ing complex the human body is
    like god damn, there's way too many moving parts and little redundancy, usually i don't have problems with evolution but the homo sapien is a semi-rare L
    granted, i can't say much because the construction of the 3CA's from Hypernova is also very complicated, but that's mostly because of the additional things they are capable of, and they actually have redundancy too, excessively so

    I mean, evolution can take anwhere from days to millions of years, so that's fair. Thousands of years would have been a more accurate statement for home sapiens

    yeah for humans it's likely be at least a couple thousand even for something simple as the ability to close our ears
    i'm curious though, what are/were the species that can evolve in days? i have always thought evolution was strictly a very long term thing so it was surprising to hear that

    Bacteria, viruses, some flies, some lizards, some fish like salmon or guppies only take a few years.

    As a general rule anything of significant size takes thousands to millions of years. But some small organisms can evolve rapidly depending on certain situations, like the introduction of invasive creatures.

    well, here are the updates to the Hypernova rewrite's concept text, as mentioned on the previous post
    i've previously shown an earlier version of it, but i've since added a few sections and modified existing ones
    one thing to note is that the numbers are not chapters, just divisions so that i can get a better overview — the names are of course purely for fun as well
