    Appreciation post for the video game franchise F-Zero. I have been obsessed with it since at least mid-late-2017, stopped playing around late 2019, and returned around mid-2023.

    fun fact, this song led me to categorize my bookmarked song folders with expanding names based on the word that the boss was named after: NIL, NILSPEED, NIHIL, NIHILSPEED, and NIHILUM (which would later lead to the name of fictional material nihilium from Hypernova); this has since been replaced by simpler codenames: N1, V1, N2, V2, N3, respectively, and later expanded with new folders such as V3 and N4 (no V4 yet) as well as dedicated soundtrack folders and whatnot

    random Hypernova "fun" facts:
    • There were once plans for a fourth cosmic automaton to be introduced, appearing after the defeat of Omnision. Due to issues of it possibly being offensive due to... some reasons, it ended up being scrapped.
    • Tom Wolfar has had 3 changes to his name throughout development. When he was first introduced, he used my IRL name as a placeholder.
    • Nadir, back when he was a human, used to have a distant human brother named Borelus Waretton, who had similar appearance and "belonged to a clan of arctic mages". After the early removal of magic and major changes to Nadir's story, Borelus ended up being fully cut.
    • The third part, Hypernova: Full Thrust, only exists to create a smoother transition between Hypernova: Moonlight, the second part, and Hypernova: Warp Like Crazy, the fourth part, which was originally a noncanon spinoff. This ended up throwing the whole thing into "way-too-many-sequels-for-its-own-good syndrome".

    Hypernova originally started off purely for my own enjoyment, but then it spiraled out of control and became too big, so i thought "eh this is a massive waste of text and storage space for just a personal project, imma make it public"
