Terrarian
I came up with an idea for the Eye of Cthulhu boss for Terraria 2. I was watching North of the Border do a clay model of the EoC and he made some demon eyes to go with it, saying they're baby EoC before they grow their teeth and I thought "that's would be a cool way to do the boss in a sequel game."
So here's what I'm thinking: demon eyes/wandering eyes would spawn like normal except for each day you're in the world, a there's a chance that say 1% of the eyes that have spawned grow bigger every day or so.
This would give a chance for the normal enemy to evolve into the EoC. If you find one of these evolving eyes and kill it, then the counter resets or there's still the chance for others to evolve and spawn new EoC in subsequent nights.
You still have it as the first boss of the game but now there's a chance that other nights could spawn more of them. This would probably need a limit of one EoC spawning in a single night (I don't really want 10 spawning all at once lol, that would be for a special seed) and then a new one can't spawn for a set number of in-game nights.
This concept could also be applied to a few other enemies too. Say the worms, harpies, something unexpected like a squirrel lol.
Additionally I thought it would be cool if the animation for the eye when it kills the player shows the mouth closing as if it consumed the player.
