Weapons & Equip Drawback Ranger weapons

I recently saw a thread discussing a rework to Bows, adding a draw time to it. While it may seem like an interesting idea, it would feel terrible if the weapon wasn't designed around it. So, here are my ideas for some drawback Bows (what I am calling them.) You can either rapid fire for weak arrows or charge them for a slow but extremely powerful blow.

Monk's Bow: While drawing back, gain increased defense and DR in exchange for decreased movement speed, similar to how Steve draws his bow. When fully charged, the shot can pierce through an enemy, and then return back with devastating force, similar to the Pwnage Hammer line from Calamity.
Damage: 30
KB: 5
Use time: 35
"Focus, and feel the tension rise."
Crafted with 5 leather, 100 wood, 50 silk, and 5 iron.

Dark Piercer: Charge up to load up to 5 bolts into the crossbow. When fully charged, you can fire them one at a time. These bolts explode into dark energy on hit.
Crafted with 10 shadow scales, 15 demonite bars, and 10 rotten chunks.
Damage: 50
KB: 7
Use time: 40
"Pierces even the toughest hides of monsters."

Fleshbat Crossbow: Charge up your bow to release a swarm of bloodthirsty bats that can heal you 1-2 HP. Tap shots fire a quick moving bolt made of blood.
Crafted with 10 tissue samples, 15 Crimtane bars, and 10 vertabrae.
Damage: 18
KB: 3
Use Time: 28
"The flesh hungers for more." (Reference to SCP 610, the Flesh that Hates.)

Hive Swarm: Charge up the cannon for a rocket-like hive to launch, releasing many bees on hit. The rocket itself deals massive damage. Tap shots launch pieces of honeycomb.
Crafted with 15 Bee Wax, 10 stingers, 30 Hive blocks, and 5 iron (for the handle)
Damage: 20 (The rocket itself has a base damage of 120.)
KB: 5
Use Time: 56 (Snail)
"The hives grow restless..." (This weapon is similar in functionality to The Hive from Calamity.)

Why? I see no reason for a arrow not to be fired at max velocity

I can understand your confusion. When I say slow, I don't mean in velocity. I mean in charge time. It takes a good bit to charge it up, but it delivers an extremely fast and hard hitting blow.

If you have any suggestions, let me know!

I feel like bows having drawbacks like that is a better suggestion as a full subclass rework, not as a unique mechanic. I think it's a very cool idea and a great way to add more to the subclass, but I don't think a couple of bows is the way to do it.

nor is reworking the entirety of the subclass, either.

Reworking a WHOLE SUBCLASS is really hard to do. I think that a few weapons having it would make them more unique.
