how do you get water elements

It is unobtainable for now, sorry. In 1.0 it will be dropped by different ocean-themed creatures

when I add exodus to my modlist it bugs some of the vanilla lanterns, they can be placed but they are not shown normally, and when I try to take them back I got the chain lantern,and placing the chain lantern works fine, but some of the ones that I use they dont work (sky and meteorite lanterns) Ive not tested all the vanilla ones, but disabling the mod fixes this bug.

I already know about that bug, but how to fix it and what is a reason of it... I really don't know. I but have some good news: I fixed heart lantern, so it works correctly.

jopojelly offered me to find the problem by myself, but I can try to ask about that again
