Maybe this is a bug, if you make pirate invasions in the ocean biome to have almost infinite invasions, and if you are in the east and the invasion starts from the east ("Pirates are approaching from the east!") the invasion will start almost immediately, but after a short time it will stop and only come back again after a few seconds.
So maybe it is a bug because the invasion has already started, why does it stop?

But if you are in the east and the invasion starts from the west ("Pirates are approaching from the west!"), The invasion in this case will take a little longer to start, in this case there is no problem as it makes sense to start on the other side of the world and take time to happen because of that.

This is seen in this type of arena where npcs are in the best place to enable the invasion in my opinion:

If I remember well if this is a bug this is already old, since the 1.3 of the game apparently

That isn't a bug, the invasion kind of "walks" until the center of the map before It starts. If you're on the way of the invasion movement, the monsters will start spawning until the invasion point moves away from your position.

That can also happen when you are exploring, and have no town npcs nearby.

It kind of gives the idea that the invasion is kind of "moving", beside the bug would be the fact the invasion npcs spawns from both sides of the screen.

Yeah, this problem is apparently solved in the game by making the invasion in the center of the world with nearby npcs, it is as if the game was made so that the invasions only happen in the center initially
