That woul make sense. It's probably a rare drop from the WoF. The texture is pretty similar to the wall itself.

But Cenx said it's not connected to bosses, so I have some doubts on this topic. But yeah, by the looks of it this must have something to do with WoF.

Doubt it. IIRC they said that Expert mode changes ai and mob stats, not adds other mobs.
