Note: Make sure your terraria is running when your doing this
I Don't know if anyone have tried this but it's easy to make a world load again( when it says load failed or whatever when you load it).
You just have to move your *.wld file to your desktop and delete the other stuff like the *.wld.bak file. Then go to the game, select a character(any character) and don't select world. Make sure that the *.wld that you move to your desktop is not present at the worlds selection. Hit the back button, go back to your files and move back your *.wld file to your worlds folder. Go back again to the game, select character, choose the world that you moved back and that's it.
Issues:
1. You need to rewrite the map cause it's filled with blank space again.
2. If your using tmodloader, the items from mods will be deleted(including the one inside chests) but not the ones that's in your inventory
