Why doesn't the moon lord send a message saying that the monsters meant him no harm and there could be peace?

Buh, a wave of comments! Let's see...
I love how you made the Fire Imp try to actually be friendly at first, since the Explorer is all evil, nice work :p
Thank you for enjoying that, it was spur of the moment `:p
Why doesn't the moon lord send a message saying that the monsters meant him no harm and there could be peace?
Simply, because in my head, the Moon Lord can't talk to them directly. He tried going through the Guide early on, which was my only attempt at showing diplomacy. Now, the Moon Lord is too pissed to even try~

Again, thank you all for reading this! `:D I'll get right on to writing the next chapter...

Chapter eighteen: Why would you do that!

The explorer made several trips to explore all of the Ruined towers, and then sat on the ledge of the one furthest to the West. The Moon Lord glanced over, curious as to their intent. When they started chugging down a mixture of buff potions, the Moon Lord started to feel concerned, as there wasn't anything that dangerous in the vicinity... Unless...

Pulling out one, just one, of the Guide Voodoo dolls, the Explorer laughed. Then, they threw it into a giant, bubbling pool of hot lava.

The Moon Lord's eye's practically popped out of his head as the doll fell down, and was engulfed. Why. Just, WHY. The Guide had done nothing to them. The Explorer had even saved the dolls before. There was no need to do that!

With a mighty, earth-shattering roar, the monster of flesh and souls rose out of the bedrock below Hell, towering over the Explorer menacingly. The Moon Lord still felt a little horrified, but a little relieved too, knowing that revenge for the atrocities might be gotten, at last. The Explorer also seemed to know of the power of the towing Wall of mangled Flesh, as they began to run away from it, at high speed.

Shooting constantly as the smaller chunks that had detached, Hungrily reaching out to snap at the Explorer, the Explorer ran, leapt, ducked and weaved upon their bunny mount, making sure not to get so far ahead as to lose sight of the thing. The Hungry mouths went down quickly, leaving a clear shot at the huge, bulbous eyes jutting out of the Wall.

The Wall continued advancing on them slowly, and began to fire lasers from it's eyes. The Moon Lord did not remember giving it that ability, but it seemed to be serving well anyway. The Explorer dodged a few, got clipped by some, and returned fire constantly, never once taking their eyes off of it's... Well, eyes. Each laser left a hefty burn on the Explorer, causing them to soon drink a potion, trying yo keep themself in peak fighting condition.

The horrific Wall also sent out tiny Leaches now and then, but they were almost always shot down before they could touch anything, the ground or the Explorer. Trying to catch up to the Explorer, the Wall alternated between firing off lasers, and spitting out more leaches. The explorer, in turn, alternated between firing from a good vantage point, and firing as they fled for their life.

As the Wall's wounds piled up, the rate at which it fired off it's attacks at the Explorer sped up, and the Explorer took increasingly more damage. Drinking healing potions sparingly, as to not dull their senses from a magical overdose, the Explorer kept their distance, still riding upon their noble Bunny as it scampered away in fright.

Shot after shot was exchanged between the two, and quite a distance was covered. Chunks were now missing from the Wall, and the Explorer was wearing down, despite their reserve of potions. However, the Wall was being worn down just a bit faster, and the Explorer grinned triumphantly as the end of the battle drew close.

Just as the Explorer felt a surge of confidence, a Fire Imp popped up just in their path, and the Explorer tripped. Swearing in languages the Moon Lord did not even know existed, the Explorer shot it, then shot it's corpse, then shot the ASHES of it's corpse. Upon getting hit by one of the Walls lasers, the Explorer came to their senses, and panicked, running into a wall, still firing away.

Pressed firmly against the Obsidian Brick, the Explorer kept a finger squeezed tight around their trigger, focusing down the badly mangled Wall. The Wall inched closer, approaching the Explorer slowly but steadily.

And, with a resounding splurch, the Wall of Flesh crumbled, coating the Explorer in a thin film of gore. Blinking, the Explorer panted from exertion, glancing around suspiciously, before walking forward, and celebrating their victory!

The ancient spirits of light and dark have been released!

That's Mister Rabbit for you, gentleman.

Chapter nineteen: The Aftermath

Upon the death of the horrific Wall, many things happened all at the same time, which the Moon Lord watched with interest.

The forces made of Light and Dark which the Moon Lord had crudely mashed into the pile of Flesh went flying diagonally up to the surface, carving a great swath of corruption to the East, and a swath of something else, an ancient long lost known as the Hallow, was carved into the West. The forces manifested so strongly, it even bound itself to the souls of any creature nearby, entwining with their very life force.

What the Moon Lord put in, were not the only forces to come back out though. One such oddity shot straight up into the sky, weaving between the harpies to bind to a family of beasts, hiding among the clouds... Three more odd forces found their way into the bedrock below, swirling around aimlessly...

The corpse itself had also unearthed some unusual artifacts that had hidden themself below the world. The most unsettling of which being a gilded hammer, imbued with the power of destruction, encased in a block of refined Demonite. Unsure as to how it even got there, the Moon Lord regrettably had spent too much power of late, and had no way of preventing the Explorer from acquiring, or using said relics.

The Moon Lord instead shifted his attention to the powers swirling far beneath the world, beneath even Hell. The Moon Lord watched them curiously, and had a marvelous idea... But, said plan would have to wait, until power was returned to the Moon Lord.

Creatures far and wide were also reinvigorated by the surge of power escaping the wall, with some even going so far to grow in size, and gain new strength. New challenges would face the Explorer, both in their immediate future, and once the Moon Lord recovered. In fact, even having shown their prowess as a capable Warrior, even they would be in trouble now...

Chapter twenty: Preparing for the new challenges

Thankfully, the wave of energy seemed to wash right past the Warrior. Interestingly, they pulled out a bag of Purification Powder, and did not yet return to the surface. Instead, they wandered back and forth, looking for something...

Fighting off the odd demon or two, the Warrior eventually stumbled across a Tortured Soul, who had been forcibly thrown into Hell by some disgruntled villagers in ages past. Cursed by the Demons to wander forever, their blistered and cracked skin had not held up well to the Underworld's heat. Grabbing a handful of Powder, the Warrior promptly threw it in the Soul's face, which not only lifted the curse, but also healed dome of the blistering as well.

Sending the begrudgingly grateful Tax Collector to the village above, to join a Witch Doctor that had hear of the Warrior's exploits of the Jungle, The Warrior then proceeded to climb. Curious as to why they did not simply use magic to return, the Moon Lord watched on. The Warrior moved cautiously, not wanting to fall back down, and wary of the more powerful creatures, already slightly wounded by an undead archer.

Soon, the Warrior stumbled across a Wizard, bound and gagged. Untying them, apparently the Wizard had tried teleporting directly to the Village, but the spell had delayed, and fired at an... Inopportune moment. It would seem the Wizard in question was a little of an odd one. Regardless, they happily went up to the town with the Warrior, settling in quickly.

Next, the Warrior used their extensive Minecart tunnel they had built when searching for the Hives, and headed to the old patches of Corruption. Pulling out what the Warrior had taken to calling, the "Pwnhammer", they smashed all of the Demonic Alters nearby, then teleported back to town.

Said Alters had already been infused with darkness before, and had become more unstable once the Wall had fallen, practically oozing magical energies. Upon the destruction of each, some energy flew out, taking hold of a spirit, and turned it into a Wraith. The rest of the energy exploded across the world, infusing with tone to give it new and powerful properties. Perhaps the sudden influx of Wraiths had caused the Warrior to flee, as there were still Alters within walking distance... A shame, as trying to fight off so many at once may have gone poorly for them.

Repeating this hit and run tactic, they set out, smashed Alters, and returned, until only the one closest to the village was still intact. Leaving that there, for some unknown reason, the Warrior then went to the Jungle, built a bunker over a pond, and began to fish...

Chapter twenty one: Fire up the forges

The warrior fished for a few days in a row, and harvested a surprising amount of the new and magical metals from the crates they had fished up, baffling the Moon Lord as to how the metal had even gotten in there, and in it's refined form no less. The ore arising from magic infused earth is one thing, having it appear inside crates is another. Dismissing it as an anomaly due to the magic surge, the Moon Lord watched on.

Forging a Mythril anvil, then an Adamantium Forge, and then an Adamantium Drill. Holding up the rare and powerful sword, the Seedler, forged from the Jungle's new and invigorated forces, the Warrior set out back underground, watching their surroundings warily as they descended.

Glancing away, the Moon Lord focused their powers, directing them under the world. Pulling out one of the three forces, they had drawn out one most closely resembling the one of Light and Hallow, With only a little Darkness mixed in. Taking this power, the Moon Lord gathered a few of the Demonic eyes, and pulled out their life force, mixing it with the newer energy. Taking this life, the Moon Lord slipped it into one of his great creations he had been working on, and saw it come to life, with the rage and intent of the Moon Lord infused.

Nodding as he proceeded with final adjustments, the Moon Lord returned his gaze to the Warrior. They were exiting a cave, badly wounded, covered in horrific wounds, barely alive. Returning home, they forged the Spider's Fangs that they had collected into a new armour, and also used Helstone to make a staff, capable of shaping their own magical energies into a shape reminiscent of a Fire Imp's.

Seeing rain start to fall, the Warrior then headed out to the frozen Tundra, and hid on top of a cliff, letting the Imps gather around near the base. From the distance, a Golem rose, taken form from the falling snow as the rain froze, and given life by the power that now filled the world. The warrior relaxed on top of their cliff, and simply watched as the summoned Imps hurled fire at it.

Amused by the similar position the Moon Lord found themself in, they turned back to their work, and focused on it for a night and a day. Turning back, it appeared that the warrior had killed not one, but several of the Golems, and was infusing their Frozen Cores into Adamantium, forging yet another suit of armour. Putting it aside, they continued to wear the Armour of the Spider, and began to fish once more.

If you came up with this before you started making it, youre a freaking genius.
If not, youre still a freaking genius.
Why thank you! ` I can't take all the credit though, the story is loosely based off of my current playthrough. The corrupt world rather than a crimson one, for example. I have omitted a few deaths, and forgotten some stuff, since I started writing when I was already up to the Pillars.

As for when I came up with it, I thought on the general concept for a day or two before writing the first chapter. After that, I have never really planned the next one until I sat down to type it onto the forums.

Chapter twenty two: A terrible night...

After fishing for a bit more, the Warrior set out underground, seeking out the Underground Corruption. Donning the Frozen Armor, they swung their mighty Seedler, and began cutting down any rotten beast to come and attack them.

Looking down upon the world, the Moon Lord sat back, and smiled triumphantly. It was done. The first of the great Mechanical Beasts was finally ready, and waiting for nightfall. As the Warrior fought the enemies surrounding them, the mighty beast snapped and growled, impatient to be out. The moment the sun dipped below the horizon, the Moon Lord let it loose, and it flew straight for the Village.

The Warrior froze the moment the beast set it's course, and returned immediately. Dumping some stuff in a chest, they healed up, and quickly drank down a few buffs, before running outside. Readying themself, the Warrior waited for the beast, gazing up at the sky.

And the best came on down, two gigantic metal Twin eyes, one green, one red. Labelled on the side as Retanazer for the Red one, it began firing of concentrated light at the Warrior immediately, causing them to leap up upon Frozen wings that they had prepared, swinging the Seedler at them constantly. The beams were powerful, and left nasty burns, even through the armor, so the Warrior did their best to avoid them.

As they were dodging the lasers shot by Retanazer, the green eye, labeled as Sapzmatism, charged at the Warrior, attempting to crush them. Dodging the charge, they instead got hit with the laser, and winced, having to down a healing potion. Retreating to a distance, Spazmatism waited, as Retanazer continued it's barrage of laser attacks.

Dodging, swinging, and taking the occasional laser, the Warrior tried to focus down Spazmatism first, but generally just tried to hit whatever they could. However, Spazmatism was indeed the first to receive a grievous wound, shrieking as they tore of their outer skin to reveal pure, celestial metal below, and a set of gaping metal jaws. Those jaws parted, spewing forth unholy Flames in a great torrent, roasting the Warrior where they stood.

Running away as fast as they could, the Warrior was still badly hurt by the flames, and continued swinging the Seedler at Spazmatism as they drank another potion to try and recover. Trembling as they continued dodging Retanazer's attacks as well, they ran for it, constantly trying to bring them down as they did so.

Cracks began to form over Spazmatism's hull, enraging it to charge at the Warrior with greater ferocity. However, cracks also began to form over Retanazer's outer shell, causing the Warrior to grow concerned. Downing another potion, they charged at Spazmatism, driving the Seedler right on through it, and tearing it apart along the growing cracks!

The combination of the flying debris hitting it, and watching it's other half be destroyed, enraged Retanazer, causing it to rip of their own outer skin, revealing a great laser turret from which it was firing the beams of consentrated Light. Firing them even more rapidly, Retanazer kept it's distance, wary of the Jungle-infused blade that had felled their Twin.

Launching the Seedler's namesake, the explosive seeds at the mechanical Eye, the Warrior focused on dodging more than anything, still badly wounded from Spazmatism. However, without them in the way, more Seeds found their mark then before, and less lazers hit the Warrior, even with the heightened rate of fire. The wounds were piling up on both combatants, and the Warriors potions were only going so far, buffs wearing off.

With a mighty splurch, one of the lasers went through the Warriors thigh, causing them to stumble, cursing. Spasmatism charged up another barrage, firing them off at the Warrior. Rolling to the side, the Seeds kept flying, and one landed right in the barrel of the laser cannon, causing it to explode. The impact rent the mechanical beast apart, showering the ground with it's remains.

And the Warrior hobbled over, collected what they could, then passed out in their bed to rest.
