Excluding the obvious one (ocean) snow (and its underground) are probably my least favorite.

Theming wise, I absolutely love it, it looks beautiful, and its soundtracks are Some of my favorite songs in the game. I just feel like it is extremely underwhelming compared to other biomes.

In Pre Hardmode, EVERY enemy except for snow flinxes are just a reskin of another enemy. The spawn rates are too low for you to ever feel in danger, making it very boring to traverse. The water also chilling you in expert is one of the most annoying things in the game.

The chest loot is also insanely underwhelming. It’s just reskins of already existing items, ice skates, which are completely useless outside of this biome, and a few weapons ranging from outclassed, to decent. Out of all these, the only thing I feel like are worth using is the snowball cannon.

The flinx staff, and fur coat are very important to summoner early game, but for non summoners, there’s not much reason to go out of your way and get it.

In Hardmode a lot of these problems get a bit better, there’s more unique enemies, it gets its own armor set. But it's loot is still mostly outclassed, with the only worthwhile items being the ice turtle shell, cool whip, and frost armor

And compared to the desert (which could be considered its counterpart) it has very little evil biome/hallow exclusive enemies, with it just being pigrons.

I feel like there are a lot of cool things that could’ve been done with this biome that would’ve made it a lot better. Like maybe they could’ve leaned more into the ocean theming that icey merman and vikings have for the rest of the biome. But currently the snow and ice biomes are very underwhelming in just about everything other than soundtrack and looks.

I think the desert has to be my least favorite. Charging mob and worms everywhere. Sand. An ascetic that doesn’t really mean much to me. Sand. Rolling cactus. Sand. I don’t like the sand.

The fact that you somehow didn't include 'snow' just proves how forgettable it is at best, and annoying at worst.
I can't name a single thing I like about the snow biome. I find it ugly, I really don't like either the surface music or underground music (possibly my least favorite tracks in the ost,) and there's hardly any good loot to acquire in it compared to other biomes like the desert or jungle. What I really hate is when the Hallow spawns in the snow biome (which happens like 1/3 of the time for me), it feels disappointing and infected snow biomes look terrible.
Snow biome has to be my favorite. I agree that the music isn’t the best. I know you likely won’t have otherworld music on most of the time, but it does wonders for snow. Ice swords are pretty good for their stage, if I recall right. Amarok is a fun yo-yo and allows you to inflict frostburn without the biome’s armor. I don’t think the biome mimic is to interesting. All but one weapon drop is a hardmode variant of a prehard weapon, if you enjoyed flower of fire. The infected variants are a little disappointing, but we do have pigron. What sucks is when your base in the snow gets corrupted after WoF. Hope this helps a bit.
Ice.

While I enjoy the look of surface snow biome, I usually have a tough time building houses for it due to how snow terrain likes to generate with all its hooks.

But the real bad stuff comes from the underground ice biome.
Thin Ice Patches.
Slush.
Half the blocks are slippery.
In expert mode, all the water slows you down a lot too.
Spiked Ice Slimes.
And nothing that interesting in hardmode.
I mean, you aren’t wrong. Ice skates and hand warmers could help, if I’m remembering correctly. Using your pickaxe to flatten area manually is the route I go. Part of the charm?

in zenith amd for the wothy worlds underground corruption and desert there are worms! I really hate them. In other biomes no matter how powerful the enemies are, players can always use blocks to protect themselves, or knockback them witweapons. The only way to completely stop summoning worms is to use walls, but it is to tronblesome.

underground because doesnt offer much variety compared to the biomes above ground despite it taking up the majority of the world
I’m pretty sure being boring is kinda the point of the normal underground. It is supposed to be simple as to not overwhelm new players. And it is big to make it less likely for new players to accidentally stumble into a more dangerous biome (for example underground desert and jungle).

Underground also contains some of the most important items for early game, such as the magic mirror, cloud in a bottle, and Hermes boots. And while all of those items have alternatives in other biomes, those biomes are much more dangerous.

Tl;dr: underground is big and boring so that new players can get important items/resources without getting overwhelmed

Water is a really good way to gain cover from enemies normally but snow just removes that.

Corruption I also dislike due to its lack of enemy variety, dissonantly happy undergound music which really doesn’t fit the biome at all, and lack of an overarching theme tying everything in the biome together.

Hate? On MY favorite biome? For shame!

Jokes aside now. The Snow biome, I believe, is a beneficial biome all around, with loot such as the ice blade being a fair replacement for the enchanted sword, the flurry boots, and the blizzard bottle all being great reasons to go loot early game, and honestly, the snow makes it far easier to find ore and life crystals. The enemies spawn sparsely and when they do, don't pose much of a threat anyway. And before you mention ice spike slimes, make a bow. In hardmode? Literally all of the ice biome mimic drops are useful in some way. The ice bow is great, the frostbrand is criminally underrated, it has a projectile that peirces (half second cooldown), and the sword inflicts frostburn too. The frost flower? Also great! More frostburn! The frost staff? Rapid fire frost that peirces! The ice sickle? Forgettable. Staff of the Frost Hydra? ITS A GOOD SUPPORT WEAPON WHAT ARE YOU GUYS TALKING ABOUT?! Frost armor? Make ANYTHING do frostburn! Also great for hybrid players (causal, too). Frost wings? Meh. Better than angel/demon, but thats not hard to do. (you also cant make terrasparks without ice skates)

My point is, it may be mundane, but it certainly is a cozy biome, try building an igloo town, move the merchant in, he gives marshmallows (best part). Most of all, its neccesary. Just like all of the other biomes.

Tldr: The items and loot are good, the enemies are easy, and marshmallows. You guys are tripping.

Also ice blade and enchanted sword are both terrible and I don’t use either of them.

Ice blade is a decent weapon, but melee is far from lacking weapons, especially at the point of the game it is obtained. Plus, ice blade is very out of the way compared to other things too.

Want more something with more dps? Bring a couple bombs when you go mining to blow up some evil ore for a sword. Still want to have something with good range? Go get a starfury from floating islands. Ice blade is just too out of the way

Flurry boots are the exact same as Hermes boots, which can be gotten from an easier biome.

I will admit that blizzard in a bottle is very good though.

I understand why someone would see this as a good thing, but personally the enemies not being dangerous is one of the main reasons I dislike the ice biome. It just makes it very uninteresting and boring to traverse, knowing that you aren’t in much danger.

Yes, the ice mimic weapons are usable, but they are very outclassed compared to many other weapons obtained at similar time frames.

Frostbrand? Bananarangs and shadow flame knife outclass it, and are much easier to use since the projectiles are faster.

Flower of frost? The Meteor staff, and evil biome books are much less out of the way, and are comparable to the flower of frost. And if you are willing to do some out of the way stuff, then the shadow flame hex doll, sky fracture, crystal serpent, and spirit flame are much better.

I will admit, the ice bow does seem to be pretty good (I haven't used it), but it seems like it would just get replaced as soon as you are strong enough to take down a biome mimic for dart weapons or stormbow.

Also, I feel like you are heavily overestimating the strength of frostbite, it is only 25 extra dps.
The frost staff? Rapid fire frost that peirces! The ice sickle? Forgettable.
These two weapons rely on a lot rng to get, which is time I would rather spend on trying to get a weapon that I cna get consistently.

Staff of the Frost Hydra? ITS A GOOD SUPPORT WEAPON WHAT ARE YOU GUYS TALKING ABOUT?!
If it was easy to obtain, then yeah it would be a pretty good support weapon, but it requires you to spend a ton of time in this biome that most people don't go to often, especially in hard mode.

Frost armor? Make ANYTHING do frostburn! Also great for hybrid players (causal, too).
Frost armor is great, I can agree on that.

Tldr: The items and loot are good, the enemies are easy, and marshmallows. You guys are tripping.
Marshmallows require you to move the merchant into a snow biome, which is personally too much of a hassle to do. Food buffs also aren't really that necessary until post boss, and once you are post boss you can just grow pumpkins for pumpkin pie, which gives a higher food buff, and allows you to spend the time you would use roasting marshmallows on progressing.

If you like the ice biome because it has good vibes just say that you like its vibes. You don't have to try to prove us wrong.
Like my favorite biome is the forest because it feels the most "Terraria" to me whatever that means.

also this thread is about your least favorite biome not your favorite biome so whats your least favorite biome

There's basically nothing to do at the desert biome besides fish (not fun) or explore the underground desert (not fun). It almost feels like filler in your world.

Least favorite has to be the stinky stinky crimson.
I don't owe an explanation.

Also ice blade and enchanted sword are both terrible and I don’t use either of them.
It carries until post eow though (ice blade is weaker)

For a weapon to “carry” it needs to be a notably strong option that trivializes the game and possibly even serves as a crutch. Neither weapon can serve that purpose at any tier. They are average at best and terrible at worst.

Corruption/crimson biomes aside, ocean (or desert) gotta take the hit for this one. I like it a lot, but it’s just last place for me in terms of things like content or build-ibitity.
