wtf is wrong with that calamity mod.. i watch many video to know how to beat certain boss, but they are unbeatable in my game, i got curse that other player dont have in their videos ... im SLOWED AS
during Devourer of God and he one shot me .... and he
ing immune to damage and one shot me.. and i got the latest version of the mod ... really guys this mod was looking awesome from the video i seen on YouTube, but lots of change have been mad all weapon have been nerf, i got lower damage than what i see on video that make me really sad for this mod that was looking good, but boss just one shot me even with 230 armor and 1030hp .... thats kindda stupid
wow. I don't even know how to tell you this. The Devourer of Gods is not for amateurs. You go up against him with LESS than 1500 health, and you basically become a glass pistol. Not even a cannon, just a water pistol, made of glass. The Devourer of Gods is FAST. Mounts are not allowed, and there are two separate attack states he has. In the first, you have decreased gravity (meaning you fly up faster, and fall down slower). The second is where you are not slowed, but jump height is cut in half, as is flight time. These states change every 15 seconds (ideally, however your PC might be slower. It's 15 Terrarian minutes).
Also, to make matters worse, if you are playing Revengeance or Death mode, all enemy attack, health, and defense skyrockets. More so than expert worlds alone. And in death mode, the DoG actually DOES one-shot you if he bites you. Period. There is not even a way to mitigate the damage to stay alive just a bit longer, so far as I can tell.
I think you need to worry less about the defense stat, and more about DAMAGE REDUCTION, and MOVEMENT SPEED modifiers. If you had ANY troubles with Providence, or the sentinels, or Polterghast, expect 10x worse at LEAST from the DoG. This is an enormous worm that eats
ing GODS, dude. And last I checked, the only god that survived a fight with him was Providence, and only because it had hidden itself so well from the sentinels.
In addition, get the best gear and equipment this mod has to offer at your point in game. Anything that reduces contact damage from enemies is a must. Make an arena FILLED with campfires, heart lanterns, and make sure you have a lot of head room. And if the weapon that the person in your video used was the Lacerator, DON'T. It was nerfed BECAUSE it was too OP against the Devourer of Gods. If you want to know what I used, I had Thorium installed as well, and I went at him with a Mjolnir, and an Unreal Quasar's Flare. Back then the quasar's flare would actually launch any arrows you fed it, but it still returns 10% of all damage dealt as health. I learned quickly that piercing weapons and explosive weapons are no good. Melee is impractical, and summons are only good if they deal continuous damage. Magic is hazardous, without a source of mana nearby you will be waiting in between attacks just to refuel. All that leaves is ranged, which poses another problem. Most ranged weapons at that point are powerful BECAUSE THEY PIERCE, OR EXPLODE. The Daedalus Stormbow, or it's upgrade the Clockwork Bow, are pretty good with Bloodflare arrows, or Elysian arrows. Rapid-firing guns are also good with a healthy (or infinite) supply of ammo. Especially the Shredder, simply for multiple impacts (even at low damage, it adds up when the bullets bounce around and hit multiple segments). Potions, potions, potions. Potions for health, damage, defense, speed, everything except the ones for fishing, basically. Bloodflare armor at LEAST, and make sure to bring Health potions, the OMEGA ones specifically.
Again, do not treat this boss lightly. He borders on being defined as a Superboss. Oh, and before you actually beat him, if you haven't already beaten the Frost moon and the Pumpkin moon, do so now, because once he's dead, they get seriously amped up in difficulty. Just a friendly tip!
Do not think this post will be accurate in the future, though. This is not the end of the edits for the DoG, and he could get a helluva lot worse.
My only other advice is to git gud, bruh. Because you're going up against someone who already is. I generally face him with several immense buffs and boosts active, around 2000-3000 health, multiple Sons of Yharon and an unreal Hell Storm from tremor, along with my trusty Legendary Burning Sky. I get a (roughly) 30% success rate in death mode, and a 100% success rate in revengeance mode. I still need to improve on my reflexes and timing, but I think I have got a good strategy down.
EDIT: Whoops. I forgot my most useful weapon along with the quasar's flare, the Elemental Disk. It has the ability to split apart and make a huge mess of the enemy, and go through blocks. It is either a melee weapon, or a throwing weapon, and it IS available pre-DoG. Try using that!
