Terrarian
1 Flamethrower
10 Demonite Bar
30 Cursed Flame
20 Souls of Night
Damage: 40
Rarity: Light Purple
Best modifier: Unreal
Knockback: Weak
The Extinguisher of Souls is only available in Corrupt worlds (or Crimson worlds with artificial Corruption biomes). Consuming gel like other flamethrower weapons, the Extinguisher of Souls has a 33% base chance of not consuming ammo, deals both the Hellfire and Cursed Inferno effects at alternating frequencies, and attacks faster than its predecessor.
However, as downsides, the Extinguisher of Souls only deals a small amount of higher base damage than the Flamethrower, and only has a marginal amount of extra range than its predecessor.
It is technically immediately available after you craft the Flamethrower, but you still need Demonite Bars from the Eater of Worlds or Eye of Cthulhu. Its sprite resembles a purple reskin of the flamethrower with a green flame tip. The player is seen having a purple gas tank on their back with green fuel in it. The flames fired cycle through both green and orange coloration at random.
The name of the weapon references the Eater of Souls enemy, and the Fisher of Souls fishing rod.
The Elf Melter, its Post Plantera upgrade, is better, despite dealing less debuffs.
Tooltip: Has a chance to not consume ammo, Deals both Hellfire and Cursed Inferno
