So Shroomite is a later-game Metal that crafts ranged armor. That’s about it. There’s a hoverboard and a digging claw. That’s it. (Yes, I know the DCU uses Shroomite too.)

Let’s start!

One could argue that Shroomite does not need ranged weapons and other stuff because of the other stuff available then.
What’s viable at post-Plantera? Let’s see...

Venus Magnum? Auto-click is bad...
Grenade Launcher? Gravity exists.
Sniper Rifle? Good, but too slow to be viable.
Rocket Launcher? It’s ok, I guess...
Tactical Shotgun? That’s actually a good weapon!
Stynger? Also pretty good, better than Grenade Launcher.
Tsunami? Have fun beating Duke Fishron to get it! Still very powerful though!

So there’s only a few viable options, and one is a bow, and taking Shroomite’s multiple head pieces to account, 1 Bow, 1 Gun and 1 Launcher. Meh.

So now it’s time to introduce more weapons to the fray and give better uses to Shroomite.

Shroomite Gator
46 Ranged Damage
Slow Speed
Strong Knockback
11% Critical hit chance
Fires a large spread of bullets
(14 Shroomite Bars, Hardmode Anvil)
* This shotgun is a bit unique in that it fires 8 Bullets in the spread instead of 5, which makes it very powerful with explosive or Chlorophyte bullets.

Shroomite Minigun
32 Ranged Damage
Insanely Fast Speed
Weak Knockback
9% Critical hit chance
50% chance not to use ammo
Starts slow, and speeds up
* This machine gun starts out quite slow, until you get a gun firing faster than the Megashark for mass destruction with good ammo.
(16 Shroomite Bars, Hardmode Anvil)

P90
36 Ranged Damage
Insanely Fast Speed (6 Use time)
Extremely Weak Knockback
8% Critical hit chance
50% Chance not to use ammo
Highly innacurate
(17 Shroomite Bars, Hardmode Anvil)
* Based on the real world gun, this SMG is very powerful, but also is really innacurate. Nothing some Chlorophyte bullets can’t fix!

Shroomite Rapid Sniper
74 Ranged Damage
Average Speed
Strong Knockback
28% Critical hit chance
Right-Click to zoom out
(19 Shroomite Bars, 1 Lens, Hardmode Anvil)
* Contrasting the slow nature of the Dungeon Sniper Rifle, the SRS is faster at the cost of some damage and knockback, but still has the great Critical hit ability and scope of the original!

Shroomite Heavy Crossbow
85 Ranged Damage
Slow Speed
Average Knockback
26% Critical hit chance
Fires 2 Arrows in a straight line
(18 Shroomite Bars, 1 Lens, Hardmode Anvil)
* Finally! A sniper-bow combo! Arrows fired by this crossbow travel faster and gravity doesn’t take as much of a tole, either! While missing the scope, it still sports a large Critical hit chance to it!

Shroomite Quad Repeater
56 Ranged Damage
Average Speed
Average Knockback
15% Critical hit chance
Fires 4 Arrows at once
(17 Shroomite Bars, Hardmode Anvil)
* Reminiscent of the Chlorophyte cousin, this stronger repeater shoots four arrows while using 1.

Shroomite Mecha Bow
34 Ranged Damage
Insanely Fast Speed
Very Weak Knockback
8% Critical hit chance
45% chance not to use ammo
(16 Shroomite Bars, Hardmode Anvil)
* This bow is the first of its kind to fire extremely fast! It can go amazing paired with some of the stronger arrows, but has a 45% no-ammo use rather than 50% to reduce
power with the magic quiver.

Shroomite Hunting Bow
61 Ranged Damage
Fast Speed
Weak Knockback
11% Critical hit chance
Defeated enemies drop hearts and mana stars more often
* A more gimmicky weapon, this is useful for bosses with servants, or a lot of enemies. Paired with a Heartreach potion or Celestial Magnet, you can recover quickly simply by killing monsters!

Shroomite Guided Launcher
89 Ranged Damage
Extremely Slow Speed
Very Strong Knockback
18% Critical hit chance
Missile follows the cursor
* This Launcher is more useful as you can control it, and not blow it at your feet! Also nice for hitting enemies in tougher spots, and better when you are hiding.
(20 Shroomite Bars, 20 Nanites, Hardmode Anvil)

Shroomite Frag Launcher
76 Ranged Damage
Slow Speed
Average Knockback
12% Critical hit chance
Shoots frag grenades
(18 Shroomite Bars, Hardmode Anvil)
* Unlike the bad Launcher, this one has a bit less gravity-pain and also explodes into little fragments that pierce 3 times. Not bad for a grenade launcher!

Explosion Spammer
54 Ranged Damage
Fast Speed
Average Knockback
13% Critical hit chance
20% chance not to use ammo
Doesn’t destroy tiles
(19 Shroomite Bars, Hardmode Anvil)
* One of the few weapons to not have Shroomite in the name, this thing SPAMS kaboom! Doesn’t hurt you or the environment, because that would destroy you and your world.

Tactical RPG
114 Ranged Damage
Snail Speed
Insane Knockback
17% Critical hit chance
(22 Shroomite Bars, Hardmode Anvil)
* This is the slowest Launcher and also doesn’t have the Shroomite in the name trend, but it also has the highest damage of any Launcher, more than that phony Celebration...

Shroomite Bullet
12 Ranged Damage
Weak Knockback
Bursts into blue spores
(1 Shroomite Bar, 90 Musket Ball)
* These babies glow blue when shot and also burst into a damaging blue spore cloud. Useful against knockback-resistant or slow enemies.

Shroomite Arrow
11 Ranged Damage
Average Knockback
Sticks to walls and enemies, then explodes
(1 Shroomite Bar, 90 Wooden Arrow)
* These arrows cling to any surface, then explode after 4 seconds. They work well in tight spaces due to explosions and clinging to walls.

WARNING! Some of these may not be Shroomite Related!

Jet Control Unit
Summons a Shroomite jet mount
(30 Shroomite Bars, 20 Soul of Might, 30 Hallowed Bars, 5 Spectre Bars)
* Jet has a max speed of 86 MPH making it extremely fast. The flight time is infinite, but can only hover 368 tiles max above where it is.

Shroomite Remote Bomb
99 Ranged Damage
Insane Knockback
15% Critical hit chance
Max of 4 can be placed at a time
(20 Shroomite Bars, 5 Landmine, 15 Soul of Might)
* These things are nice to put on the floor as a trap. Simply right-click and KABAM! Great against lots of enemies or your friends. Can be placed on floors, walls and ceilings.

Overall it's a great concept, but the specific values could use some work. Here's the main example that stuck out to me.

P90
39 Ranged Damage
Insanely Fast Speed
Extremely Weak Knockback
8% Critical hit chance
50% Chance not to use ammo
Highly innacurate
(17 Shroomite Bars, Hardmode Anvil)
* Based on the real world gun, this SMG is very powerful, but also is really innacurate. Nothing some Chlorophyte bullets can’t fix!
These stats are way stronger than even Calamity's P90 - much higher damage, twice the crit chance, and a much higher chance to not consume ammo. It had better be pretty freaking inaccurate if it's to be even close to balanced in its current form.

Ok, so Insanely Fast could be taken as the Megashark or Calamity’s P90, which has a use time of a staggering 1. The function I was going with is more like the Megashark or Gatligator, but this has base 6 Use time over Base 7, which is a little faster. I did see the idea of a damage change reasonable, so I went and did that.
Damage: 39 —> 36
