Slings will work kind of like flails but instead of being thrown when m1 is released,it will fire a pebble or a rock. Ammo can be made at workbench with stone.

Is it just one sling or are there multiple different ones? What are their stats? How do you get them?

I was thinking traveling merchant would sale most of them, and one being found in dungeon. And some being crafted.

i'd say there could be a basic wooden slingshot (like, the one in angry birds) crafted from 1 white string and like 4 wood, one made of bones and string (dungeon one), a few metal ones (lead/iron and gold/platinum), a few purchasable, and finally a hallowed post-mech one that looks very modern and mechanical and fires faster than all of the others, and that's about it
i'd say just having it fire stone straight from the inventory would be fine tbh, maybe even make it so that 1 stone is enough for 4 to 5 shots?

There are three sling type weapon that I know of. Actual slings like what Pumyra from thunder cats (attached image), slingshots such as from angry birds (attached image), and a staff sling which I somehow got three of simultaneously playing DnD (attached image). Now, I don’t know if any of of these was exceptionally more powerful than the others as I never handled any irl (except a knock off nerf slingshot that could shoot like three feet) so if you want them to be unique stages of progression I don’t know which would be best.

Slingshot, Sling, Staff Sling. The slingshot just uses elasticity and is weak, and the staff sling uses more centrifigual force
