Suggestion one. Unique Torch God theme with lyrics

Torch God Lyrics I have written:

You have angered the bestower of the eternal primordial flames


The one who is not corporeal, illuminator of life


Will you suffice, will you survive the trial by fire


Or are you just a liar who speaks untruths about your true power


This is the hour of ordeals, will you show your might in the blinding light


You cannot fight, for this is a test of your endurance


A test of your ability to prevail, if you persist an artifact will be bestowed to your avail


Numinous luminous light permeates the Stygian caverns


And the flames fly towards you and try to burn you to a crisp


You have abused the blessing of light, and now you shall pay the price with your blessed life

Suggestion two. Post Golem Torch God rematch.

After beating the Torch God(as in after you have used the Torch God's Favor) and Golem you can rematch the Torch God.

The Torch God rematch is summoned by placing 250 torches underground. It works almost exactly like the original Torch God, and the fireballs deal 200(Normal)/250(Expert)/300(Master) damage each. In For the Worthy the fireballs are larger and deal 50 extra damage in every difficulty.

The reward for surviving the Torch God rematch is the Heart of Primordial Flames. The Heart of Primordial Flames can only be consumed after gaining 500 health, and once used you permanently grant 20 more health points, making it so you can have a max of 520 HP, it also gives your hearts a flame-like color. You can sell the Heart of Primordial Flames for 15 gold coins, and once used you cannot rematch the Torch God again.

I completely disagree with the first suggestion here, music with lyrics isn't a thing I would ever want in Terraria,
and Boss 3 is really fitting for this fight already, making new music would be unneccesary.

I completely disagree with the first suggestion here, music with lyrics isn't a thing I would ever want in Terraria,
and Boss 3 is really fitting for this fight already, making new music would be unneccesary.

2: Might feel a bit modded... But what truly defines something which feels modded? And how does 20 extra health points from a very difficult post Golem boss(?) break progression.

it's important to tempor expectations when it comes to a post made by a dev. They've been known to troll from time to time, or to simply humor jokes. For example, you've probably heard that Moon Lord is Cthulhus brother right? One of the most common beliefs in Terraria, but plot twist, it isn't true and it never was.
While the big man said that the idea amuses him, so does making a poop world. He's not doing that, so it's realistic to doubt this happening.

Nice lyrics, however I'm in full agreement with @Im_OverpoweredOganesson🐿️ here. Music with lyrics just doesn't fit Terraria in my opinion. It would feel way out of place, and just wouldn't feel right. I do not support the addition of lyrics to music in Terraria, regardless of whether Redigit does or doesn't.

I'm not so sure I support the "cannot rematch" a boss bit though. To my knowledge, you can rematch any boss at any time throughout the game, and I don't feel that should change.

1: Yeah, lyrics would be a bit out of place. That is why I included it as a separate suggestion. And I know that Redigit is a pretty big troll(but not in a bad way though)!

2: You cannot start the Torch God event again after you have already consumed the Torch God's Favor. And as this rematch event is well a rematch, it is meant to work similarly, as in the reward for the event makes it so you cannot do the event again after you have used it.

1) I can’t really say for the music since I don’t know they rhythm or meter so it just sounds like words.
2) I would not mind an extra HP Boost. With Life force potions, you could push 625 health.

I'm not against another HP boost, but 520 HP is a kind of unsatisfying number to end on. It would be better to get a nice round number, but I don't think 600 is a good idea either. I'm not sure what to do about it.

Yeah, 500 is a nice number to end on. I don't think another permanent HP boost would be as satisfying.

Maybe a permanent buff similar to the shimmer buffs, which increases life regeneration from campfires would work better? Campfires are made with torches, so it sticks to The Torch God's theme

Lyrics are pretty good but they're a very awkward thing to put in Terraria, I'd pass on that.

The bonus addition of torches for the arena feels odd. Most players will have set up an impromptu arena for the prehardmode torch god which requires 100 torches. 150 more feels like too much. Maybe stick with the original 100 and have the torches re-light after they're done?

Also 520 HP is very odd. Terraria HP always maxes out divisible by 100. So either find another bonus for the player or increase the HP you get from this to at least 100, which would then be too much. A bonus that still relates to biome torches would be good, like biome torches attacking enemies and inflicting biome specific debuffs like poison, frostburn, ichor, shadowflame or cursed flame. Though that sounds hard to balance.

Hang on, the only thing that really ends up dropping from the battle against Torch God is the Torch God's favor. If there would be a way to have a rematch against them, shouldn't there also be items added to the reward pool?
