Time for a Jungle then. good ideal!
How come? I would have naturally assumed the Japanese stuff was covered by the rule change as well if you hadn't said otherwise. What is to be gained by prohibiting it?That one is tricky, and the info we have right now would point to no being the safest answer at the moment.
I'm not sure of these answers flarn, sorry. How come? I would have naturally assumed the Japanese stuff was covered by the rule change as well if you hadn't said otherwise. What is to be gained by prohibiting it?
Same with the removed items; what's the issue with players making mods to restore it?
This means that the number of items that are not allowed to be implemented in mods (in addition to the restriction on porting console and mobile exclusive content) is reduced to only six: the Icemourne, the Scythe, the Soul Scythe, the Zapinator, the Mysterious Package, and the Biome Key Molds.
Thanks for the info on this. Currently, I don’t see that mod having a thread on the forums, which is really our (TCF forum staff) only governance. If it’s on the modbrowser it would be something for the tModLoader team to look over, and that would be their decision.Currently, there's this mod on the tModLoader mod browser called "Unused items now Used" and it adds a few of those items you mentioned.
So I finally get to have a mod with Celestial hammers?
It’s cool that both of these things are now in the Vanilla gameWell, time for a Jungle Mimic then.
why? hundred of sprite recolours and animations up for grabs, super good for new devsNot very keen on this, to be honest.
Not sure, but you can do a search in the Released Mods or the WIP Mods section, or ask in the General Mod Discussion: Client/Server Mods & ToolsPeople, maybe someone knows the name of the mod, which has two cool katanas with interesting mechanics
The Scythe and Soul Scythe are of the few removed items that cannot be ported, so no, you cannot. If you want to create your own, entirely new and original, scythe-like weapon (without using the Scythe or Soul Scythe sprite, even if you “rework” the sprite) that’s fine.hey am i allowed to add the Scythe and soul scythe if i rework them heavily normal early hardmode weapon releases a spinning death when attack button is let go its thrown like a boomerang. the soul one is a post plant weapon that acts as an upgrade that also fires spirits along with the reworked form of the scythe changes.
ok got itNot sure, but you can do a search in the Released Mods or the WIP Mods section, or ask in the General Mod Discussion: Client/Server Mods & Tools

Does this also include like say, the title theme for consol edition? I really miss the switch editions terrarian title theme(three t's lol) and would like to know if its ok to have it used as a modded title theme or my mod. Also just because im curious, does this also include implementing console edition bosses like Turkor?Update 2018/08/06
There has been a change to the Player-Created Game Enhancements: Rules & Guidelines whereby the restriction on porting console and mobile exclusive content has been removed.
There has been no change to the rules regarding removed items as detailed below. The restriction on porting removed content is still in effect (the Icemourne, the Scythe, the Soul Scythe, the Zapinator, the Mysterious Package, and the Biome Key Molds).
Update 2017/02/27
Hello, Terrarian Modders!
Today I am happy to announce that there has been a change to the rules that govern Terraria modding. For some time now, it has been against the rules for mods to implement any of the unobtainable items. However, after some recent discussion between the staff and the developers, it was decided that the time has come to limit this restriction to only those items termed 'Removed Items' which are listed under the Removed Items section of the Unobtainable Items wiki page.
I am very happy about this change and think that at least a few modders will share my excitement. If there are any questions or comments about this update to the modding rules, please feel free to share them in this thread and, as always, happy modding to all.
EDIT: Two clarifications:
I hope that clears up any confusion that the opening text of this announcement may have caused. The exact rules are covered much more clearly in the Modding Rules themselves and I suggest that all modders read said rules thread for exactly what is and is not allowed.
- The rule against porting Console/Mobile exclusive content is not affected in any way by this change and that rule is still fully in effect.
- The Mysterious Package and Biome Key Molds are considered Console/Mobile exclusive content, but since they are listed under Removed Items section of the Unobtainable Items wiki page, I have listed them above for the sake of completeness.
You're kinda late on this lol, Consolaria existed for muliple years now and the Console title theme has been ingame since 1.4Does this also include like say, the title theme for consol edition?
