PC Is it possible to move the game files away from \my games\ ?

Terrarian
Hi, I have this issue with my main drive that is, it can't contain much at all. So I tried some things like moving the files away from the \my games\ files. And as you probably know it, it recreates the files there instead of reading where I moved them ( I was expecting it not to work). At this point it'll soon be impossible for me to run the game with anything in the background like the wiki or the discord, because their temporary files takes too much space on the main drive for it to work properly. I don't know much about terraria's code so I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to do or if i'm just doomed to watch youtube let's plays.

Help would be much appreciated. <3

iirc my games is created by steam, so you can't move it
however, i think windows allows you to move your user folders to another drive. i'm farily certain it's quite buggy, but if you have another, mostly free partition at hand...

EDIT: if you want to move the installed game executable instead, look at Steam Support :: Moving a Steam Installation and Games

I do know that the game executable files are created by steam, the executable is where I want it to be (my external drive). My problem is not the executable location, but rather the location of the files created by the game in "C:\Users\(USERNAME)\Documents\My Games\".

then i fear you have to move your user folder. still, terraria save data is only ~10MB + 1MB for a fully explored medium world (so probably 25MB for a large world would be plenty) so if that's too much you might have some bigger concerns...
