Not to me. Just a mention that they'll spend 2023 creating new patch without any end-date given. That looks like a ETA to me.

I know i know. My post was mostly aimed at people "gaslighting" me into thinking that there wasn't any ETA or delay when there clearly was an ETA and there was a delay that happened due to tragedy and later due to Re-Logic deciding to add more and more content to the update that was originally just Dead Cells crossover + QoL additions. Two things here.
1. Obviously the scope has increased well beyond "just doing the Dead Cells content"... which I get the sense no one will mind in the end.
2. A pretty massively impactful negative event happened just a few months after the message you quoted... so yeah, that had and has an impact to put it mildly. Not going to apologize for that.
Also i am concerned about engine limitations someone i think it was Leinfors back in the day that told me the more is added to Terraria the worse the engine handles it causing performance issues and that Terraria was reaching it's limitations already and the devs had to work around these limitations. Or something like that. What about that and the upcoming 1.4.5?
Because there was none !I know i know. My post was mostly aimed at people "gaslighting" me into thinking that there wasn't any ETA
The engine just helps with making a window, displaying sprites inside it, handling input, playing audio and stuff. Like Loki said, almost nothing in Terraria is limited by the capabilities of these foundations. On the other hand, the architecture the game builds itself can of course be limiting in some way. Like recently the 4th liquid type being the last option available in the 2 bits dedicated to them in the tile representation, and a similar story with tile paints. Also i am concerned about engine limitations someone i think it was Leinfors back in the day that told me the more is added to Terraria the worse the engine handles it causing performance issues and that Terraria was reaching it's limitations already and the devs had to work around these limitations. It's pretty common for people to refer to Terraria's core systems/architecture as "the engine", which makes sense considering that Terraria doesn't make use of an off the shelf engine, just a framework which handles the lower level parts, like you mentioned. Arguing over semantics of engine/Framework/core systems/architecture only serves to derail the conversation, especially when it's pretty clear what people mean. The engine just helps with making a window, displaying sprites inside it, handling input, playing audio and stuff. I was just clarifying that this is not about XNA, since there are often people asking about switching to a different framework/engine due to these concernsIt's pretty common for people to refer to Terraria's core systems/architecture as "the engine", which makes sense considering that Terraria doesn't make use of an off the shelf engine, just a framework which handles the lower level parts, like you mentioned. This looks more like an Ice bomb since it's more blue-yThat looks more like a Snow Bomb to me (which would make sense with Mud Bomb people have been asking for).
