Oh the rat transformation reminds me of my deceased pet rat by the colorant. This would be wonderful to have that rat transformation in memory of her, she passed back in 2021 and I miss her so much every day. But not only that, the fact being the rat can travel one block is amazing and useful to escape the enemies and easier for cave exploring! The closer the update releasing, the more exciting it gets! Oh and congratulations to Kazzy & Jopojelly!!

I think there should be a relic for defeating enraged bosses in master mode, just so you could display that you killed empress of light during the day and not getting one shot, same with the dungeon gaurdian.

Is weapon stacking necessary? Who was asking for it

It certainly makes a difference for how fast your inventory fills up.

Certainly not server developers, its gonna take months to fix all the stuff which assumes that stackable items cannot have a prefix, and that they cannot be equipped, and so on...

Not sure what you mean by cannot be equipped? You cannot equip 38 Muramasas at once, but you could equip one from the stack and have 37 left over.

As you say, prefixes are separated:

Same weapons with no prefixes: stack
Same weapons with the same prefix: stack
Same weapons with different prefixes: don't stack

Its just that the assumptions about "max stack > 1" and "can have prefix", as well as "max stack > 1" and "can be equipped" being mutually exclusive are now wrong and will need to be fixed everywhere, potentially even at the design level.

Dyes can be equipped and do stack, so that assumption was already wrong. Prefixable items don't (yet) stack, true, but I don't immediately see which features would depend on that assumption being true. I'm open to hearing about them, though - anything to pre-emptively solve any issues.

Nope. There was not any.

The devs even had to directly put "There was not ETA" to stop such rumors like a couple of SOTGs ago. It didn't help as I can see... 🙄

That looks like a ETA to me.
And spoiler alert : It did not come in 2023

So technically there was an ETA and there was a delay.
My post was not wrong.

I've never gotten a duplicate weapon and thought "Crap I wish we had weapon stacking" I'd rather just leave the duplicate weapon and not take it.
But, there's no real downside to it existing so ig there's nothing wrong with it, even if it's pretty useless

I doubt it would be very useful for that anyway since the chance of getting two of the same weapon with different prefixes is pretty high.
Seems like the main thing this is intended for is extremely long-running mob farms, since chests will be able to suck up items when activated. Weapon stacking means if you have a bunch of chests, they won't get filled up just with duplicates of the same weapon.
I think weapon stacking looks ugly and feels weird, but I can't really imagine any other arguments against it.

Two things here.

1. Obviously the scope has increased well beyond "just doing the Dead Cells content"... which I get the sense no one will mind in the end.
2. A pretty massively impactful negative event happened just a few months after the message you quoted... so yeah, that had and has an impact to put it mildly. Not going to apologize for that.

Imo, giant mob farms absolutely do not need to be any more convenient. But yeah, there's no reason not to add it
