tModLoader Metroid Mod

I agree with this, as tourian has always been locked behind defeating bosses but I just wanted to say that I dont really like the idea of mother brain as the final boss of the mod. Sure, itd definitely work, but I dont know. Something about it doesn't rub me the right way. There are definitely some thatd be a lot better as a final boss. (My personal pick would be Dark Samus)
Now all we need is Draygon to bring the party of 4 and it'll be just like Super Metroid.

I do agree, but I'm just going off of how it's currently scaled. I honestly do want to see all the greats represented in some form, but the discussion started with Tourian so I was just kinda' giving a fair assumption. This is partly where I wish more liberties could be taken with expanding this mod.

EDIT: also some food for thought, imagine what subworlds/dungeons could do for bossfights themselves. I would kill to see Experiment z-57, but encountering him in a dungeon subworld rather than being a summonable item would definitely make the encounter more interesting and accurate.

And, although its pretty ambitious, subworlds would allow for the metroidvania aspects to truly go wild (something like the mod of redemption's abandoned lab)
 
Maybe you craft elevators to go to "hidden areas" of the world like Brinstar Overgrowth, Norfair, Maridia, Wrecked Ship, Crashed Frigate.
ooooh boy I really do want to see what elevators could look like. Sure, teleporters/ropes do that job for vanilla but just the idea of riding a platform down to the underworld instead is incredibly interesting to me.

That too. Craft elevators that are just for transport. Wonder how you tell them where to stop.
 
They'd have to go through blocks to be worthwhile. If they're just a glorified hellevator, then theyd be easily outclassed by just falling with a slime mount
Depends, the elevators may have a speed option. Look at the one in AM2R that takes you to the GF Starship.

Also, if they go through walls, how will we see the player riding the elevator Metroid Style?

could be an overlay, if such a thing is possible. Give an effect as if we're peering *through* the tiles to see the player in a moving lift. Background tiles between the two lifts would simply have this overlay fully rendered. Might not be quite as exciting, but probably the only flashy way of doing the "elevators through walls" concept justice.
 
Any ideas on Hunter Class based potions? And how to craft them? I like fishing for my pass time.
Potion of cooling? Maybe another use for some ice fishing, either reduces heat buildup or causes heat to dissipate faster when the power beam is not being used. Unfortunately, even vanilla class-oriented potions are pretty limited. Outside of wrath and rage, most classes only really benefit from 1-2 class specific potions.
 
anyone got any good challenge ideas? ive done calamity malice and forgo's eternity and want to keep things fresh waiting for updates
These are reasons why I want a Calamity Metroid Crossover. But I feel Scooter Boot is gonna need some time to talk with the creators of Calmamity to make it happen.

PS. An Idea, make bombs and missiles effect the new crumpling blocks that you need to break in the dungeon.

I've been doing pseudo-crossovers with a bunch of different mods on max difficulty and im looking for more
ive done:
shadows of abaddon (with glass heart, which forces some bosses to oneshot), calamity malice mode, fargo's eternity mode (finished soul of eternity with dlc), the stars above, gensokyou, ancients awakened, and thorium
im open to any other mods/modpacks i could do a run as the hunter class, i need bounties to hunt!
edit: im now doing anarchist mod and getting my :red: handed to me

I really love the aesthetic of the suits in this mod, and I kinda' wanted to play around with it a bit.
I guess you could consider this "fan art". Knowing that we probably won't be up to Metroid Dread content for some time I wanted to try my hand at envisioning what (spoiler) the Metroid Suit would look like in Terraria.
Not incredibly experienced with texturing for Terraria character proportions, but this is what my current final draft looks like:

Feedback is much appreciated, personally I think the visor could use some work although I don't know what changes to make.

Sorry no. Just wondering suggestions you and others have for Metroid once it reaches 1.4 that I don't have. My curiosity peaks.

I am mainly wondering what Queen Slime and Empress of Light would drop for the Power Suit. Maybe types of bombs. Like Queen Slime drops bombs that act like her apple attack. Pretty much a weaker version of the Pumpkin Bombs. And Empress of Light drops Rainbow Bombs that act like one of her rainbow attacks.
 
I have noticed a bug with the morph ball, when you use it, it disables the left click function of items (eg: wishing glass(Thorium) no longer allows you to toggle destination, it acts as a faster magic mirror or whatever mode you set before entering morph ball)

also, I have a idea for how the prime 2 beams could be implemented, dark beam can replace ice beam, higher damage in exchange for slightly slower projectiles and inability to freeze with non charged shots, incompatible with light beam
light beam can replace plasma/nova if beams are obtained in hardmode, has piercing properties and can only burn with charge shots, either inflicts on fire! or daybroken but either limits the range of the beam fire or overheats quickly, Incompatible with dark beam (idea not complete)
annihilator beam can replace wave beam, trades wall piercing and oscillating shots for homing shots, either incompatible with both dark and light beams or must have both equipped, I don't think there should be a ammo system because there already is a overheat meter

my thoughts for the beams is that they would do more damage but would be a bit harder to use (slower shots from dark beam, either limited range or high overheat use for light beam, and no wall piercing for annihilator beam)

prime 2 missile combos can be implemented too, darkburst will chase enemies and yank all nearby enemies to the center of the blast as well as high damage, (instakill enemies below a certain health threshold optional), sunburst, heavy damage, inflects daybroken on enemies hit directly by the projectile and on fire! to enemies caught in the ensuing explosion, sonic boom simply deals massive damage in a wide area but costs a huge amount of misssiles

prime trilogy visors could also be added as accessories that reveal nearby and invisible enemies in certain ways( thermal makes enemies orange, X-ray makes them white, dark makes them red, and echo makes them emit visible sound waves,

one more thing regarding balance, vortex storm, nebula singularity and stardust blizzard feel far weaker than supernova, to the point where they feel on par with the luminite beam, idk, I just feel they do way less damage and kind of want them buffed a bit, just so they would be on par with supernova, not sure if luminite beam is supposed to be weaker than hyper or phazon
