Empress of Light
E: Thread title used to be "Agastya, International MAG of Mystery" as my old username was, at one point, Agastya! However, this is currently not my username, and never will be my username again. However, the old OP was great, so I'm leaving it here as a quote!

Professional lurker.
One-liner poster.
Boulder enthusiast.
Moderator in various online communities.
Deathweed farmer.
Housekeeper.

I am Agastya. You may or may not know me. Now is your chance to learn, or perhaps just ask me for advice, be it in love, war, or community moderation.

To get the ball rolling, my current username was not intentionally rooted in Hindu mythology. I wanted a new throw-away alias when I broke into the ROM hacking scene for the Touhou fanbase, so I looked to Phantasy Star Online for inspiration. Here is my namesake:

It later turns out that Phantasy Star Online names a lot of equipment after Hindu deities. This led to a lot of confusion in my Ragnarok Online days.

Who are your 3 most favorite NPCs, and favorite quotes from each of them?

I completely forgot this thread existed! It even has my old, old username! That's interesting!

So!

Who are your 3 most favorite NPCs, and favorite quotes from each of them?
I've been thinking about this for a hot minute ever since this notification first came up, and it made me think: do I have preferred, favorite NPCs? I'm somewhat guilty of not taking NPC safety into account for a large portion of the game, but also trying to do battle when away from them to not cause a NPC to get harmed in an encounter they had no business being near. No Princesses have been armed in my Terraprisma farming endeavors!

Thus, by this logic, my favorite NPCs would be ones I do everything I can to protect, yes? In which case, among those three, I'd say:

The Party Girl, with "At last, my time has come!" as an exceptional quote
The Witch Doctor, with.. basically everything he says, but "[Nurse] may help heal your body, but I can make you embody healing." stands out the most to me
The Princess, and honest to the Empress I think that "Worry not, concerned citizen! I am well aware of the organized crime problem among snowfolk." is quite possibly the funniest line of text in this entire game.

Also, an honorable mention goes to the Pirate's graveyard quotes. Also, I would be far out of line not to mention these memorable classics:

Where is your profile picture from?

(in case you change it later)

If you could turn into any 3 fictional species, what 3 would you turn into, and why?

"a magical girl battle game"

What in the Chat GPT is that description :D

Looks neat though, I'll have to check it out. As for my question; what is your favorite color, and what is your favorite shape?

What's your favorite Terraria Boss?

Harpy, Slime... can I list Harpy again? I cannot list why without being removed from Santa's nice list.
When you say Harpy twice is it because you want to be a harpy that much, would you want to be able to become two different types of harpies, or is it both?

I am slightly biased towards the Empress of Light just being my preferred type of straightforward brawl and technical challenge, but I have a soft spot for The Destroyer since I just really happen to like the enemy design genre of "gigantic mechanical worm"

I say Harpy twice because I can't think of a third creature, honestly.

How many times have you killed Daytime EoL?

Any time I intend to play Summoner, I clear daytime EoL, but I haven't really counted runs otherwise. I only really skip it if I feel like playing fair.

Interesting runs were my initial practice runs taking around 200 attempts to actually route the counter out, implementing the practice into future runs, having consistent performance in later runs.. every time I went for in multiplayer, I'd always ask friends to log out first, but I'd then stream the run so they know that the Terraprisma I would have later was legitimate.

My truly notable ones were Journey/Master/For the Worthy Starlight only (no Celestial armor), Pre-Golem Summoner Legendary For the Worthy, and Vortex Beater Ranged pre-Moon Lord on Legendary getfixedboi.

Finally, as a fun fact, I have never fought this boss on Classic mode, so Classic has attacks I have no practice against and has an arguably higher chance of making me look silly.

Holy…

What is your favorite weapon?
Eventide! When used with Endless Quiver you have a lot of control over how the bow attacks and it just feels cool lining up the lances however you wish.

Honorable mentions:
Paintball Gun / Clockwork Assault Rifle
Burst-fire ranged weapons are neat, in the case of Clockwork it's basically a guaranteed level of ammo reservation while the Paintball Gun is just a good trash cleanup item that needs no ammo

Volcano
big single hit go brrrr

Star Cannon / Super Star Shooter
These things are a far greater display of wealth and affluence than the Coin Gun ever will be, and are by far some of the most fun you can have in Journey Mode if you're using all your powers to your heart's content.

Paladin's Hammer
There's a level of satisfaction that comes from throwing this thing straight into a crowd and watching it either atomize or go flying away that's much more personal than any Terra Blade beam could ever grant.

Starlight
This thing is far more interesting than anything else that comes after it, Solar Eruption comes kinda close but it feels like its just a worse Whip than anything fun Melee can do.

stabby stabby stabby

North Pole, Pretty Much Every Flail
I just think they're neat. I use them for like five minutes and carry them on me otherwise until its time to do inventory cleanup 20 hours later. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Bubble Gun, Laser Machinegun, Magnet Sphere, Shadowflame Hex Doll
These are the only Magic weapons I have experience with that I actually think are interesting. I think Magic is fine, but none of the weapons really trigger any brain dolphins when I use them the way these things do.. not even Last Prism, despite it being a big deathray.

I say this having not really used any Empress weapons, though, and I intend to change that at some point.

As for summoning...

I mostly share opinions on Summon damage weapons with Shyguymask, so refer their thread here: 1.4.4 Summoner Minion, Whip & Armor In-Depth Tier List

However, my opinion of the Pirate Staff is much less generous than theirs is, and I think Ravens should be a very light A rather than a high A-.

My favorite non-Terraprisma minion is the Optic Staff, simply because of the pure chicanery and visual clutter you can cause by having a massive cloud of 20 minions floating around you. The Raven Staff is a close second, followed by a tie between Blade Staff and Desert Tiger.

Whip-wise, I can't really pick a favorite since I stack them. Whip stacking is incredibly fun and while I was capable of doing 3-4 whips consistently, I honestly think most users don't need to do it, and if you really want to you shouldn't really worry about more than Dark Harvest for support and then your choice of Morning Star or Kaleidoscope.

I prefer the Rainbow Crystal over the Lunar Portal, and to wrap this post up, my favorite OoA Sentry is the Explosive Trap. We will get into that particular preference when it's my week in Pass The World, but I'm sure savvier users who read this know exactly what I plan on doing.

Here's a video. Have fun, or don't. I'm not your boss.

I have a soft spot for Shimmer Arrows fired from a Stormbow.

Barring the special arrows from Eventide, I also rather like Explosive Bullets and Hellfire Arrows.
