Pass the World - The TCF Edition!

I beat up the wall

It's Monday everyone, and you know what that means. It begins again! The files have been sent off to Impostor and he gets to explore this brand new universe called hardmode. Where unicorns race towards you and want to give you a hug. With their teeth.

It turns out that the last player ended up not having the time to play like they thought they were going to (no biggie, life happens, we continue on), so I was able to go into the world, kill the Wall of Flesh, and get it ready for Impostor (you might have to wait for the Guide to move back in, haha). I couldn't have done it without all the fabulous progress that all of you have previously made. The world is great, with basically every item you could want at your fingertips, all in organized chests. Simply wonderful! Which is all to say that we won't be seeing an update for the last week, but hopefully Impostor will be able to grab some fun screenshots and share some details during his time with the world this week.

I'll describe what happened for the first day

When I joined, I noticed the wall of flesh treasure bag from the past week wasn't opened, so I decided to do that. I had gotten a breaker blade and summoner emblem, when I went underground to explore a bit before the game suddenly crashed. No idea why. Sadly, none of those items were saved. But upon rejoining, I got a firecracker and sorcerer emblem from the same bag, those are cool (I also saved right after getting them prevent losing them. No further crashes happened). I then headed over to the crimson, since breaking altars is a key part of it. We got Palladium, Mythril, and Titanium. Was hoping for Adamantite on the last for building, but thankfully we have the shimmer to transform it. I admired a bit of the world on a short tour too, visiting all the pylons and such. Even encountered a lost soul in hell, but couldn't save him for now. Did buy purification powder for future use however.

The Hallow is just to the right of spawn
Thankfully, I found a ton of gelatin crystals too! Queen Slime was honestly more intimidating for me than the Mech Bosses before playing since my last world had the hallow generate in the jungle, meaning there were barely any gelatin crystals. The resource scarcity got to me but thankfully there was none here. I stocked up on 15 as of now, Which should be enough for a single winning attempt. Even got a magic quiver, found the wizard, and got enough souls of light to fight a hallowed mimic (I got a flying knife). I also headed down to the shimmer and got an NPC guide to combat Volume 2.

Speaking of which, Do we have a table on what shimmer upgrades we have and don't have (like the vitality crystal)? Doesn't look like we've been keeping track, but I can confirm we have the NPC guide to combat volume 2.

Hardmode Ore mining went well, I got up to Titanium with a titanium helmet and leggings as of now, with a chestplate soon on the way. There was a blood moon as well, Which unfortunately killed Lisa the Nurse, Ningauble the Wizard, and Peaches the Slime. In revenge, I killed enough werewolves to get ourselves 2 moon charms. I am hoping we get a new elder slime too, May Peaches rest in peace. But despite that, Things are looking up! Stay tuned tomorrow night after I finish my chemistry exam in noon.

Wow, fantastic progress already! 15 gelatin crystals and 2 moon charms, oh my.

Worm is a little rough and fortunately not that important in the grand scheme, but if you checked your Fishing Power against the Fishing Calculator sheet you could find out for sure: Fishing Calculator

Or you can just ignore it and someone else can do it, since I think we're at the point all the important fishing has already been done anyway and asking one specific person who wouldn't have been the one to use the Worm to calculate if we've used a Gummy Worm or not is kinda silly lol

Day 2

I started out this day looking for Titanium. Found none, so I broke a few more altars. I left one though surrounded by torches in the left crimson with a sign saying "DO NOT BREAK", so you still can craft any extra night's edges/bloody spines/etc. if you need too. This worked well! I got full titanium armor shortly after. I did a short trip to the crimson but died, which I'll explain later on in a bit on my second try in the next paragraph. I'm guessing the goblins got jealous of the cool new affect the titanium armor has, since they invaded. I fought back and got a shadowflame bow and doll. No shadowflame knife, but I'll take what I got. I went underground to get a queen spider staff, which I did, but then a hallowed mimic chased me back up the hellevator. Genuinely the most terrified I've ever been in game. But I beat it at the surface and got a daedalus storm bow! This was unexpected but heavily delightful. Even had enough spider fangs left over to make a regular spider staff.

I decided to see if I could then get a golden shower. I headed down to the underground crimson to find out it had eaten most of the xenon moss biome. That was not good, so I bought a paint scraper and took some xenon moss back to the base with me, and lined the elevator shaft with it. I hope no one minds, I think it adds some flair too. But I got the souls of night and ichor I needed, and I even got a life drain and djinn's curse too. After getting a golden shower, I decided it was time for Queen Slime. She was decently tough, and I underestimated her. I was thinking I could just spray her with the golden ichor, run a bit to the left while firing, and repeat with the occasional fire cracker snap if she got too close. Turns out she's way faster than I expected and dealt some heavy contact damage, forcing me to kite around her a bit while healing. I then realized that the spiders would be great against her in the main base, since they could climb up walls to get her when she's flying. She entered phase 2 at the front door and it went ridiculously. She spammed so many projectiles that I couldn't even dodge them when they bounced back off, and I could barely even see what was going on. She thankfully got a ton of damage from the fire cracker here but it got so bad I had to escape out the backdoor, Where after some more daedalus stormbow spam I defeated her! 1 boss down, 1 to go!

I tried a rematch but died quickly when she spawned on top of me. But I'm still satisfied with today. Not much is happening on wednesday though, I got a math exam on thursday that I really need to study for. (If anyone has any advice for Trigonometry on finding out a triangle's length is from the internal angles, I'd enjoy hearing it). But I'll update everyone again soon after that!

@Unit One , should I create a new thread for the Pass the World that I'll end up making or should I continue it in this thread? Want to make sure I don't do things wrong :)
Hmm, I’m thinking probably a new thread so that they can be organized separately.

Love the update and all the screenshots. Titanium, Goblins, Hallowed Mimic, spiders, and an epic Queen Slime fight. What more could we ask for.

Good luck on your math exam. Get some good study time in.

Alright, This was a very very long session so I'll do my best to summarize

I first decided to kill queen slime a few more times. This was so I could get the Blade Staff, which I assumed would help me a ton with Skeletron Prime (I chose him out of the 3 mech bosses, since I always go with Destroyer first. Why not change things up a little?) I died to her 3-4 times, but killed her twice in return and got it. Along with a full set of crystal assassin armor and the gelatinous pillion. I put the armor in the armor chest, but decided to try out the pillion. It looked kinda cool, and felt great to use.

Then a blood moon hit. So I decided to see if I could fight dreadnautilus. I died instantly but one of his summons dropped a pirate map. I wanted to fight them but decided I should wait until it wasn't a blood moon. So I just fished a bit more fighting some lower level minibosses like the zombie merman before the next day started, and even got the first NPC combat book too. I summoned the pirates right after, and I'll be honest when I say I died A LOT. Thankfully they went away, and I got a gold ring and discount card. No lucky coin to make a greedy ring, but I'm still satisfied.

I decided to fight prime at last, but quickly died. Turns out I didn't have good enough healing potions. Using standard ones was too little and he sweeped me after I took out an arm of his. I decided I'd then change up my strat a bit too. I made ichor arrows to knock out 2 birds with one stone with the daedalus stormbow and golden shower, reforged some weapons, and swapped out the cobalt shield with a pygmy necklace so I could have an extra blade to work on prime. But I couldn't find any unicorns, so I headed to the mob farm through the teleporters to test it out. Turns out that the mob farm works wonders! I actually made multiple platinum coins using it, and only stopped when hallowed mimicks spawned and killed me inside the bunker. But it turns out RNG really liked me, becaue I didn't get just 1, or even 2, but 3 hallowed keys! Now post-plantera we can use the rainbow gun! Even if it took a while, I got enough souls of light and gear to make it worth it. I crafted enough keys of light to farm 7 from the souls, getting some good gear too like the illuminant hook and crystal vileshard, along with a hefty amount of greater healing potions.

Feeling way more confident and fully buffed, I re-challenged skeletron prime a few more times. I died 5 out of those, but on the 6th I got lucky. Turns out the gelatinous pillion is great on bouncing on him, and a temporary nurse hut I made left of the main base out of ashwood (feel free to take it down) allowed me to reheal. The stormbow worked wonders too, it shredded him to bits, and not even a wyvern joining in stopped me and the winged slime. It was so good that I even fought him a second time to not waste my buffs, and I won that round too! This left me with 52 hallowed bars, 67 souls of fright, and 2 mechanical batteries. We even got a skeletron prime trophy!

I then decided to build to leave a small legacy. I built a house for the truffle, but I felt like that wasn't enough. It was decent, but could've been way better (feel free to improve upon it!) My first thought was something on the left ocean, but I realized that a duke fishron arena there would probably go into conflict with it so I scrapped that. I then found a floating island above the jungle, Completely untouched and converted to crimson by the hardmode V. This was perfect, and I shimmered some dungeon brick from our chest to create ancient brick and made a shrine to an old YouTuber I used to watch, Yrimir. It's a small pyramid that you can walk under. I then decided to fill in my own build too in the build spot under the base. I wanted a light/dark theme for hardmode, but realized crimson/hallowed stuff could spread, and even then pearlstone bricks and crimstone bricks looked hard to match together in such a tight space. So I made a sky island above the underworld, complete with 2 Amongi to show who built it. Not the best thing I've built, but it'll do. I wanted to make a tribute to Stampy's old world too, but had no ideas other than something vaguely related to living trees. Maybe someone after me could do that.

But after a quick check to see how my neon moss was growing, I decided I finished my run. I'll be sending the world and player file back to Unit One tomorrow morning. I had a wonderful time and can't wait to participate in any future events like this!

Note that both the Yrimir and Box build are halfway photos, Final result is different

You’ve done a fantastic job with the world Impostor, and an even better job sharing all the details with us. You took us on the journey with you this week, and it really helps create that community feel. Thanks for that.

I’m amazed by all the progress everyone has made, you’ve all truly done so well.

Oh great job!
Sounds like I have some awesome stuff to go off of too!
Haha, thanks for getting Skeletron Prime, he's my least favorite of the mech basses lol.
