Terrarians, How did your Hardcore runs end?

Hardcore runs are hard and usually end very abruptly, such as when my 3 month Hardore run ended when i was trying to get more solar fragments for Moon Lord, and then a selenian reflected my Nebula Blaze EX into my face and ended the run. With such jank yet interesting end to the story as these, what are your experiences with The Reaper?

The first time was when I just got into hardmode and went in the underground Ice to farm ice mimics, there was an ice tortoise in my mining corridor and it flinged itself on me, it got me cornered
