I think I'll keep hunting until I have the funds to restock my boosts and if I still don't have the male by then, I'll try to swap her so I can stick the chain and not have to resume it until I run low on specials to give away

Birthday and Christmas season doesn't seem very celebratory this year. Plus I genuinely feel too tired to actually take part in anything anyway, and the next week is going to be a long week with all the finals coming up.
On the bright side I bought a decent amount of new games that I have been putting off playing for a long while, as well as now being able to access some games that I have not played for quite a while. If anyone is interested I can post a list of some of those games here.
