"I... huh... ...And you can already talk and such..."
Eve shrugs.

"Actually in that case that's perfect, need to immobilize... basically most of their body. Can't have stuff shift and cause more damage than has already been done."
"..."
"Huh. Thanks for the tip."

Sarah starts by patching up the wounds she can see with rock bandages.
"Don't think I would've thought of making an earth cast if you hadn't brought it up."

Mae's eyes remain wide as she gently shakes her head, clearly opposed to the idea of stone bandages.

She coughs once, some blood dribbling from the side of her mouth.
Sarah then, as she looks down, now actually notices Mae's reaction to the idea.
"...Well, I'm not exactly going to stop. Unless you'd rather risk bleeding out."

Eve shrugs.

Mae does not take this well, starting to shudder, a shrill whine escaping her throat which slowly escalates into a screeching scream as she flails around, blood now dribbling a lot faster from her mouth.

“THATSHOWTHEYDIED!!!”

After her screeching, she goes limp, breathing faintly, her eyes now rimmed in tears.

Evi sighs.
"...You need to be immobilized or you will likely end up paralyzed or dead. So, either you suck it up, or we knock you out."

"I want to.. see them.."

Garundel is looking over now, his body looking to be in moderate shape now..

The machine goes silent, returning to scrutinizing his screens for a moment, eventually adding a final comment.

"I would like for Xee to return within a few system hours, We have work to do."

He waves Yattola off dismissively with a hand.
Yattola bows, dispersing back into his rift....

...and appearing back where Xee was fought. Not even hiding, banking on everyone being too pre-occupied to notice his presence.. Simply watches Mae, the first genuine sign of emotion on his face. One of a faint melancholy, like learning an old TV show from your childhood finally ended.

Yattola mouths something. Mae knows what he said, even if she can't hear it.

"Care to stay?"

Sarah, cool under pressure, just sort of ignores the screeching, mostly flinching softly away from Mae as she continues.

Evi sighs.
"...You need to be immobilized or you will likely end up paralyzed or dead. So, either you suck it up, or we knock you out."
"I want to.. see them.."
Sarah sighs, before quickly raising some earth with pinpoint accuracy to restrain Mae from the neck down.
"For beings who can't regenerate after getting badly wounded, you'd think they'd be better at not trying to kill themselves when they need treatment."

Mae slowly rolls her eyes over, already too wide to go any further..
Yattola mouths something. Mae knows what he said, even if she can't hear it.

"Care to stay?"
It takes Sarah a moment to notice what Mae's looking at...before she tries glancing in that direction.

Mae draws in a few more shuddering breaths before gritting her jaw, narrowing her eyes as she goes quiet, breathing deeper and looking away from Yattola.

Seems she made up her mind..

She'd see a ghost, sadly looking at Mae.

He... doesn't look very happy about it, but he nods solemnly. He then lifts a hand, and snaps his fingers.

Fluxxation's cameras see.... everything as they should be. There is nothing out of the ordinary.

Yattola floats over with the few seconds he gave himself.
"...Very well. I hope you trust your decision."
Yattola then turns to look at Sarah.
"I was never here."
With that... he's gone.

While it does press against her wounds on account of being stones, it feels a bit like plugs plugging up the sink hole in a bathtub. Except her wounds are said sink holes. It doesn't actually hurt at least. It just feels uncomfortable.

She'd see a ghost, sadly looking at Mae.

"...?"
Sarah shakes her head, unsure of what to think as she focuses on healing Mae.

Evi, meanwhile, would just be staring at Mae with a look of concern.

At this point, most of Mae’s open wounds should be sealed with rocks.

Meanwhile, elsewhere…

Dark slowly gets up, dusting himself off.

Feeling around, Dark takes a few shallow breaths…before sighing a sigh of relief.
“…”
“Sometimes…despite how much I try not to care…I wish things didn’t have to be this way.”

Dark looks up at the sky.
“…Can’t say I mind whether you’re listening or not, Avari.”
“…It just feels…hard sometimes.”

There is silence for a while, then...

"{I'm sorry, how much you try not to care?}"

"{You've done nothing but worry about all of this since I've been in your head, you aren't fooling anyone, even yourself.}"

"{Just.. drop the act already..}"

"{... Trying to hold it all in isn't going to help you either.}"

"{Your attempted apathy is honestly.. kind of creepy.. why don't you want to care? This is.. a monumental foe, a whole war, dare I say it.}"

"{Dark, you have people looking up to you, and holding back your fears won't help you lead them any better.. people want to be able to relate to their leader, not feel inferior to them.}"

"{...}"

"{Forget it, what do I know.}"

She goes silent again.

"...You know enough, Avari."
Dark lies down to face the sky.
<I just...haven't had time to talk to anyone, I guess.>
<Haven't had time to vent and just...be anything but levelheaded and focused on making sure we don't die.>
<I don't tend to want to be a leader. It's...draining for me. To think about all the details and just...be a stable rock in these monumental times.>
<...but...if it's what we need to stay on course and survive...>
<...I'd do anything to protect those who don't deserve to die. My friends, people I might not have known for very long...I'd lay down my life, if need be.>
<Because...that's the point of having power, to me. To use it to take care of those who don't have it.>
<The power to protect, the power to worry and make sure everyone's ok...>
<...So...>
<I suppose I'm happy having a break like this...even if it's just for a little bit...>

“{You’re definitely an interesting fellow, I’ll say that much.}”

“{I’ve never really found merit in breaks, they let you think too much.. that isn’t what you need, you’re.. you. It’s ok to worry, it’s ok to try to be stoic about all of it. You’ve done very well with all of this, even if you could’ve done better, it doesn’t mean you’ve done poorly.}”

“{… Say, when all of this nonsense is said and done, what do you think you’ll do? Stay here?}”

“{You strike me as the sort to already have some enemies, and not because you’ve made them yourself.}”

<...>
<Thank you...>
<Guess that does make me feel better...>
<...>

Dark gets up, clapping.
<...I'd think some people do need breaks to be more effective in the long run, avoid burnout and all that.>
<Buut, well...you're right. Probably time to get back to it.>

“{… Say, when all of this nonsense is said and done, what do you think you’ll do? Stay here?}”

“{You strike me as the sort to already have some enemies, and not because you’ve made them yourself.}”
<...Eliminate the Daybreak presence here, mainly.>
<We may have something of a truce going on, but...once Fluxxation's gone, we're more than likely going to come to blows again.>

Meanwhile, Mae's wounds should be covered up by now, as Sarah starts covering her body in an earth cast to restrict her movements. She looks off-handedly at Lightning.

"{... Stupid expression.}"

<We may have something of a truce going on, but...once Fluxxation's gone, we're more than likely going to come to blows again.>
"{When you've got the time, would you mind telling me more about these 'Daybreak' people..? I'd be interested in what sort of threat they're able to pose.}"

Meanwhile, Mae's wounds should be covered up by now, as Sarah starts covering her body in an earth cast to restrict her movements. She looks off-handedly at Lightning.
Mae still has her eyes shut tight, trying to keep her breathing slow.

"{... Stupid expression.}"
<Stupid...?>

"{When you've got the time, would you mind telling me more about these 'Daybreak' people..? I'd be interested in what sort of threat they're able to pose.}"
<Yeah, maybe another time.>
<I'd be happy to tell you about them though.>

Dark floats off a bit, creating a small panel in a skeletal hand, before dissipating both.
<...>
<I was thinking of practicing my Xiter'ing...>
<Not using Coral, obviously. I'd probably make myself explode by accident.>
<I'm just worried the Coral might cause some...side effects even if I don't actively use it at all...>

Mae still has her eyes shut tight, trying to keep her breathing slow.
After a few minutes, Sarah would have Mae's body well-covered in a rocky cast to minimise her movements.
She stands up.
"...Alright then, Mae. You should be ok now...until we can get back to base to find a good healer."
