I think since they're adding new water physics I think it will be a new boss for the ocean biome, but the theory of Red"s flaming head sounds cool (the shape does fit).

It's a portal that spawns countless enemies from random biomes that appears in a random location. And won't go away until you kill every enemy! No arena, no building, no fortress just... Player has died! And again and again!

Or it's the effect for the Null Magic Armour; armour that gives you moderate protection but, as long as you have Mana, you take no damage but lose a Mana star instead! (Hmm... probably not... useless for mages and potentially op for ranges and summoners. Probably no good for melee either...)
