@Yoraiz0r has also written a pretty slick getting started wiring guide, including some neat little uses of logic gates. Not merely content with programming in all this amazing content. :guidehappy:

Then for those looking to ease into the update content and see some of it's capabilities in action first, you can check out and download @Baih and Noel's (@Kieda) amazing looking adventure map! From watching some of Pedguin's preview stream last night it looks like the most comprehensive and well polished content I've seen for Terraria. :guidehappy:

Finally, if you find any obvious bugs in the game, please go check the forum's official bug report section and see if you've found a unique one (the devs will be very pleased to hear of new ones as soon as possible). If you're not sure if something's working as intended you are welcome to post it up here if you like.

So far, my favorite thing has to be the multicolor wrench(aside from not cutting actuators)Grand Design, or the conveyor belts. This might change as I get ahold on more of the new items...[/S][/S]

i think my favorite thing about the update is the new logic gates, as they are very useful when creating machines, and they do not take up as much space as the hoiks. infact, I have already created a half adder design that takes a small amount of space, which is in my signature. I plan on possibly making some other stuff with it too.

I'm just waiting for the Builder's Workshop map to get updated, after that i have free access to everything and loads of space for experiments. Then i'll post my findings here, assuming it's not too late by then.

The Grand Design is great. Right clicking with it brings up a menu with the four wire colors and actuators, and a wrench/wire cutter symbol. Clicking on a wire color or actuator toggles interaction with that wire color or actuators, and clicking on the wrench/wire cutter toggles whether The Grand Design places or removes the chosen wiring components. If you left click and drag, a glowing line appears; when the mouse is released, the entire line is subjected to whatever The Grand Design is set to do. It also automatically grabs dropped wires and actuators, and appears to have a reach of the entire screen. Also, if you have The Grand Design in inventory, to the left of the inventory there are buttons that allow you to force wiring to show even without an appropriate item in hand, and toggle the brightness of a wire color/actuators through three states, making it easier to identify where wires of specific colors are.

The Static Hook is pretty convenient for building, though the UFO and Baby Fishron have similar benefits.

There are Unicorn statues and Conveyor Belts so you can now set up a stardust dragon to automatically grind unicorns from safety and have the horns delivered to your doorstep and it's wonderful.

Sadly though, boulders aren't affected by conveyor belts. No infinite boulders ;_;

The Grand Design is the god tier wiring implement.
No more hunting for wrenches in your inventory
No more having to pick up cut wire
No more having to cut all the wires to get at that red wire you ran wrong
Easy straight lines (I can't make straight wires line to save my life)
Running multiple wire colors at once.

The almighty grand design! Easily the best thing in the game for building! Also the troll machine that is the announcement box  <- By far my favourites
I wonder if the name (The Grand Design) was based off of the book about the universe by Leonard Mlodinow and Stephen Hawking? @Cenx ?

Anyone else got this? Explanations?

Just something to look at while the game's starting, I believe.
the announcement box

I imagine it's mostly because it makes announcements... :guidetongue:Simplest explainations and all.
I think they got rid of the infinite NPC house :/
I believe so (can't get my old builds to work now).
This however, is the true beauty of the geyser trap:

Ooh, they shoot right through a whole bunch of blocks... Great for hiding them well out of sight! :guidenaughty: Do they do good damage to shoot up at WoF too, or other applications? Also, what kind of areas do you find them in? Not found one myself yet...

I think our prayers were answered! Fantastic functionality...
nicorn statues and Conveyor Belts so [..] horns delivered to your doorstep and it's wonderful.
 I wonder what all drops we can now get from each of the new statues...? Nothing from critter statues though? (Notes say they can't be caught, I think.)
The Static Hook is pretty convenient for building
Ooh, interesting. It's a bit of an odd hook, but look at the reach on that thing! And holds you right in place. Taking a bit of getting used to, but very handy.
Builder's Workshop map
You got a link to where that will likely be available from? Also, anyone link to any good old all-item all-NPC maps, to help people get to the new items as quickly as possible...?
I have already created a half adder design that takes a small amount of space
Ooh, speedy!
half adder design (with wire bulbs for output location,t inputs are blue and red wires, carry is the red wire. )

Is that based on the adding machine spoiler? Or you (re)invented it from scratch?
the conveyor belts
Look super fun, I love transport mechanisms. Wonder how much loot can be sorted and split up automatically with these...? Could be very helpful to stop one's inventory getting full up with the wrong things during AFK sessions.

Dripplers spawned from the statue can drop Sharktooth and Money Trough, which is fun. We also got a few unicorn on a stick drops as well as a single blessed apple across five thousand unicorns, so I'd say the droprates are very very low to compensate for how rapidly we can kill them.

It's nice that we can just farm Dripplers whenever we want now, provided worldgen agrees with us.

Ok, just got my hands on a geyser:

Probably not, as they didn't do much to harpies spawned from a harpy statue in expert mode, plus the issue of getting them in bulk. They can also be used for an adventure map, but are not able to be hammered.

My initial reaction is WOW!

Everything now can be better scripted, not to mention more wire control! Dummy Ghosts work as usual - checked it out on the cannonball arena, though don't know about the invurneability.

Checked out half of the adventure map (didn't have time for more) and it's loads of fun! New way of playing Terraria
