Greetings everyone!

All of us on the Terraria development team hope and trust that each of you had a pleasant a restful holiday season. While we took some time to spend with friends and family as well, we have also been hard at work on the 1.3 update. It is our desire that 1.3 live up to everyone's expectations and leave an epic, lasting impact on the game.

It's been a while since we shared some substantial spoilers - so to make up for that gap, you will find a larger-than-usual list of stuff from 1.3 to whet your appetite. Hope you enjoy them!

One of our areas of focus with Terraria 1.3 is an interface upgrade. Clearly, this is a core part of the game experience with which players will constantly interact - so we have taken great care to make the interface more clear, pleasing to the eye, and to enhance it's level of interactivity. Below are a few examples of these efforts:

Player Interface Upgrades - Icons & Text

We have upgraded how icons appear/work: things in your inventory will now have their edges lighten up once the cursor is over them.

In addition, a lot of buttons such as reforging, opening the crafting grid, PVP, and teams got a visual update -we even added a 5th pink team!

We also noted that a lot of in-game text is currently hard to read due to how it blends in with the backgrounds - so we've gone on a bordering spree and are making sure everything has the right amount of clarity and contrast to it is easier to to view and read (even item stack amounts).

(Please Note: This is a work in process and may not reflect the final version.)

Player Interface Upgrades - Inventory & Shopping...

Good afternoon everyone!

505 mentioned this in the main 1.2 thread this morning, but I didn't want it to get missed by any of our Amazon-based Terrarians that have been eagerly awaiting their shot at 1.2 content. Well, that wait is over - 1.2 is now on Amazon!

The link below will take you to the Terraria Amazon page where you can see it yourself.

I know 505 joins me in apologizing for the protracted delay between the various 1.2 releases. A lot of this is beyond our control, but - as you are our customers - we regret the inconvenience to you regardless. We will continue to endeavor to lessen these impacts in the future.

As always, please report any bugs or issues via the links in 505's signature :

Or head to the information tab on @505Games profile for additional contact options (also in spoiler below)

Thanks again for your patience, persistence, and support! We all look forward to reading about your experiences and adventures in the mobile section of TCF!
Ladies, gentlemen, Terrarians of all ages!
Welcome to CC#21, featuring all kinds of amazing creations and art!
I had an original joke to put in here but unfortunately I lost it so let's just get straight on to the meat of this post!
(Oh, and remember to post on Darthmorf's profile for this month's Creation Compendium entry list.)

Good evening Terrarians!

We are entering a new and exciting year for Terraria and ReLogic! We have just passed the three month anniversary for TCF, and – as we said back in October – we cannot be more thrilled with how things have gone thus far. We hope that everyone is still enjoying all that TCF has to offer as well as the multitude of happenings in regards to Terraria. From mobile/console updates to toys/shirts to vague teasers on new projects to the ongoing mysteries of 1.3, it is an exciting time in the Terraria universe!

As you probably noticed, we took some time over the past few days for maintenance and upgrades to TCF. This is all part of our standard planning and process for keeping the community site current and evolving in a way that meets the needs of each of you. Below you will find a list of some new features and tweaks that we hope will enhance your time here. We cannot get to all of the community’s expressed desires quite yet – typically because either the Add-On doesn’t exist and/or we just don’t have the bandwidth in the team to made coding fixes at this point (since we share Skiphs with the development of 1.3) – but rest assured that we do keep a running list that guides our development alongside our own ideas.

Keep that feedback coming – and a sincere thank you to each and every Terrarian out there for your support. You guys keep us energized and excited to go above and beyond to enhance the Terraria experience, and we look forward to the weeks and months to come.

Cheers and Happy Holidays!
~The Re-Logic Team

Without further ado, here is the changelog for today:

Updates to existing Xenforo core software and several of our plugins
This is mostly a large handful of bugfixes and behind-the-scenes technical enhancements that will subtlely make your time here more pleasant. :)

Good day, Terrarians!

We are a touch late getting this out - we'll just blame the holiday season this time ;) - but we wanted to make sure that everyone knew that Terraria on Steam will be on sale throughout the Holiday season until January 2, 2015!

That's right, once again you can get Terraria for 70% off: a mere $2.99 for one of the best selling Indie titles of all time!

No better time than now to give the amazing gift of Terraria to a friend, neighbor, colleague, or acquaintance!

Happy Holidays to each and every Terrarian and thank you all for your continued support and keeping our community a vibrant place!
Good afternoon everyone.

We are aware of an important issue that requires the attention of all console Terrarians.

With the latest update, a bug was introduced that converts console exclusive armor left on mannequins into Christmas vanity outfits. This applies to armor on mannequins at the time of the user updating as well as any exclusive armor added to a mannequin after the update.

A patch to fix this and some other issues is being fast tracked and is well underway. That said, until you hear from us that the fix is available

Please do not place console exclusive armor on any mannequin!

IMPORTANT UPDATE (December 19, 2014)
The console armor/mannequin bug only occurs if a player loads a savegame that was created in a pre-christmas patch build into a game running the post-christmas patch build. So if you have the christmas patch installed and then put armor on mannequins, nothing will happen.

What that means is that the warning in this thread is a bit more specific based upon what we know now:

Do not load worlds that were created in older (pre-Christmas update) builds in which you have console armor on mannequins into the christmas patch build. If players want to do that, they should first remove the armor from the mannequins, then apply the christmas patch, then load the world again. It should then be safe to put armor on mannequins in that world.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding!

We are not sure what - if any - fixes will be available for anyone already affected, but we will look into it.

We deeply and sincerely apologize for this - and to anyone adversely affected by this bug. We understand this will be frustrating and that losing hard-won gear is never a pleasant experience.

Thanks, and stay tuned for further information.
Here is that spoiler I mentioned earlier... enjoy.

Edit: Weapons shown in this spoiler have NOT been balanced!

Good day, Terrarians!

It is with great happiness and anticipation that we announce that The Terrarian Times (TTT) is coming to TCF! Long-time community contributor @Mystery will continue to lead TTT into this new era. Please join us in thanking him for his past and current service to our community.

To help kick this off, we have ported all of the existing issues of TTT over to TCF so that everyone can have a chance to read and enjoy what has been one of the longest-standing community projects for Terraria. Begun by TheEimas in 2011, and picked up by Mystery and others since early 2012, TTT has been and remains the official community-run newsletter for the Terrarian Community. To help support this move, I have added a new subsection in Community News & Features for our larger and more regular community projects like TTT and the Creation Compendium. Hopefully we will add more to this solid start as we progress.

Moving forward, the TTT will have a slightly different format - more streamlined and targeted, with more frequent...
