PC Empress of Light post-Plantera summoner build

Legendary Flying Dragon

Official Terrarian
Hello, I hope I am not being dumb here anyways if you are looking a semi-good post-Plantera summoner build to defeat Empress of Light, I might have one.
Anyways you guys are free to fix this build in the replies xd
Anyways, I recommend doing a Pumpkin Moon first because from there you get access to Raven Staff, Dark Harvest, Witch's Broom, Spooky twig (if you wanna go for wings), Necromantic Scroll, and Spooky Armor. Spooky Armor in my opinion, is insane for bossfights. In mobile it gives you +4 minion slots and a whip speed bonus.
You also might wanna get:
- Pygmy Necklace or any shield to prevent knockback
- Necromantic Scroll
- Papyrus Scarab
- Avenger Emblem
- tons of buff potions
- Bewitching table
- Wings (optional, but go for Fishron Wings if you love Duke Fishron)
- Cute Fishron / Witch's Broom
Reforge all accessories to menacing to get that 4% extra damage
For whips and minions, I always use Raven Staff + Morning Star and Dark Harvest. They are semi-good for the fight.
Anyways that's for my build. If you found any of these sucks or bad, please let me know in the replies...

Cute Fishron mount is a godly against her especially if its raining

I agree. The insane speed can outspeed her attacks (mostly). The Witch broom is good too, but it becomes useless when she start spamming ethereal lance attack.

Memorizing her attack patterns is the real issue for me. She is predictable and all of her attacks are telegraphed. But their is so much going on it's hard to keep up lol

Honestly I'd recommend you to practice in journey/classic mode first. She can be the most fun boss if you know her attack patterns. On expert mode she gets even crazier. But somehow her ethereal lance attack on phase two is much easier that classic's phase two.

I prefer the Broom against her for the much more reactive controls, and you don't have to commit into going one direction, unlike the Cute Fishron. Its maneuverability makes it very easy to use, and it is perfect for dodging all of her attacks.

100% agreed. Broom's really great one. I always choose the broom over Cute Fishron. I mean the Cute Fishron is really good, but unless it is raining I don't think I wanna flood my entire arena with water. The Witch's Broom carried me through lunar events and Moonlord. The Witch's Broom is also really easy to get, I got it on my second pumpkin moon. Cute Fishron is godtier but farming Duke Fishron for it is risky and often raging.

Cross Necklace/Star Veil should be used over Obsidian Shield/Ankh Shield, but Frozen Shield is worth using.

Avenger Emblem isn't worth using over Moon Stone line or defensive accessories like Brain of Confusion/Worm Scarf.

Personally I think it's best to get used to not having any of these accessories except maybe frozen shield and star veil.

Thanks for pointing out. Personally, I always prefer being offensive for glass cannon classes like summoner or mage. So yeah most of the build there were focused around damage than defensive. But honestly Moon Stone > Avenger Emblem is so right. You usually fight eol nighttime, so using it over avenger is smart. Anyways good job though you are really good at pointing out stuffs like this.
