Just found out that gem minecarts exist

they apparently take 1 minecart and 1 large gem of the respective gem type. My question is, who has ever made one, because I at least, never have once made a large gem in my life, let alone crafting it into a minecart.

Wtf? Are they useful or just slightly better basic minecarts? Also there's a minecart that combines a fart cart(whoopie cushion and minecart) and the terra toilet, I'm making that Minecraft as soon as I can

I've made gem carts several times already. As of typing this my switch run has Topaz Cart as its current minecart.
