Can you pleeeeeeeaaaaaaaseee stop the bug where it randomly crashes on ps4 terraria, I got the dirtiest block and my game crashed and I cried alot
The July 6th update seemed to fix everything. Ps4 itself got a software update today(July 20) and the game freezing has started back up again. I play with a friend on ps5 and he doesn't seem to ever have the problem, the world and his game continues running fine while I'm frozen, unless I am hosting, then he has under 3 minutes before his screen goes black.

I'm on ps4, never got an update
My daughter is on ps5 and has the freezing issue. Both of us are unable to play no matter what we try. Is this even being looked into? I haven't heard of, nor have I seen any post about a possible "fix"
Sorry to hear that @Pizzahunter31 - I can certainly understand the frustration.
DR Studios, the development team bringing Terraria to console, are aware of the issue and have been very active in talking with players here, there are over twenty replies from them in this thread alone. One fix (that hopefully lessened the freezing for some players) has already gone out, though it sounds like it may not have worked for you. Take a look through this thread, as there is info that may help - if it doesn’t, there may be info you can share with the devs that can help them pinpoint the problem better.

I appreciate the response and effort of the team. I understand, and thank you again. I've tried literally everything suggested by staff and the community, nothing is fixing it. I've been having this problem as well. I'm pretty sure I got the software update, but unfortunately it still keeps freezing. I only started having this problem a week or two ago, and it hasn't been affecting any game except Terraria. It really sucks not being able to play one of my favorite games, but I have faith that the team will find a fix for this issue soon.
I'm currently playing in a journey mode world with no bosses defeated. The pet I'm using is the blue chicken from Stardew Valley, and I'm not using any mounts.

New update on the issue, this crash can happen to Small worlds as well, was randomly trying to beat EoL on a small world and the game abruptly crashed (by freezing). If this helps to debug the issue, I was using a Keyboard and Mouse as the control type using custom keybinds, and the PS4's OS version is 10.70 running Terraria version v1.4.4.9.4 Build 1050. Exact world seed that this crash happened on was 1.4.1.69420666911. (Full Seed) Simple terms is Small, Journey, Corruption, Seed ID is 69420666911
Me and my brother Love Terraria. We are doing a master mode playthrough right now. We both play on PS5. The issue we are experiencing has been happening since we started the world. My brother randomly freezes and loses the all the progression he has made including blocks he has placed/broken and items he has picked up just disappear from existence. The way we play around the bug makes it so he has to save and quit anytime he gets something good. Sometimes we have a whole play session where he doesnt freeze once and sometimes he freezes 4 times in 20 mins. i cannot find any information on this issue so im here as a last resort. Any info is appreciated.

- What's the current progress in the world where you're seeing freezes? (pre/post hardmode, which progression bosses defeated, etc): This issue happened from the very start of the world AKA no bosses Beaten.
- What kind of mounts/pets do you use? NONE AT FIRST (currently using MASTER MODE BEE PET, SLIME MOUNT)
- Has the frequency changed? Are they more or less frequent? FRUEQUENCY IS COMPLETELY RANDOM
- Does turning off water quality reduce/remove the freezing? HAVE NOT TRIED BUT WILL REPORT BACK..... EDIT: My brother turned off Wave Quality and he has not Froze in over 30+ hours of gameplay.

So that’s why the game is like 80% off in the PlayStation store right now. I absolutely love this game. I haven’t played in a long time, when I saw it was on sale in the PlayStation store I couldn’t help myself. But obviously, nobody told me that there was a ridiculous freezing issue. Here’s my question, will this ever get resolved? I got this game like two days ago, and I’m seeing that there were updates over a week ago that were supposed to fix this, which clearly didn’t. Is there any hope? Is there a single soul on this planet who knows why this is happening? Is there anybody who has any inside knowledge as to whether the developers know why this is happening? It’s extraordinarily annoying and frustrating. This is a lot of people’s favorite game of all time. I get that we are all playing on an old generation console, but this is ridiculous.

I'm a legacy player on PlayStation 4, I've been here since we had Ocram and legacy items in game. I still play and I'm in the middle of some role play character/world building and I'm so sad bc I can't play for more than 10 minutes anymore without the game crashing. I rlly hope we get something soon , I'm very shocked that the last update made it worse lol

Still getting the game freezing on me, on the 1.34 update, i play on ps4 with my friend and bother who are both on PS5, we started the world last night, had no issues yesterday, but today I started playing, had no issues for about an hour but then it froze, I reloaded the game and it froze again within less than 20 mins, I reloaded a 3rd time and i went to get a drink by the time I was back the game had frozen on me, we haven't progressed the world at all through bosses, we've bearly even upgraded our tools, only have the tutorial guide in the world and with a room, is there anything I can do to fix this issue?

I'm freezing I'm post planters on a playthough with my brother but even when I'm on single player by myself it freezes I have the spirt light pet wolf mount and golden chew toy pet
It can happen 10 minutes in or 2 hours
I've mostly had it in the underground jungle seeing as I've spent most of my time there but I'm about to try the waves quality to see if that's my problem. Also if it matters I'm on ps4 pro and my brothers on regular ps4

The game will just crash at random times and it's really annoying as I had to beat plantera twice because it crashed. Very annoying, pls fix
