No, what annoys me is that still being how almost all power generation happens.
The only forms of power generation that don't rely on them to my knowledge are solar panels and the chemical reactions in batteries.

It just feels so primitive compared to everything else.

I'm not saying anything about its efficiency or whether it works or not, just that it feels really behind other technology.

It's at least better than using a piston to turn something I think, but yeah, though I will say that to me the engineering involved in making a turbine still makes it not the least primitive part of most processes, considering how boiling water into steam is normally how they actually spin that turbine.

I think that's honestly the most annoying part of the whole thing.
Like just find some way to get electricity directly from radiation or something like that.
