Don't Starve singleplayer is finished product with 2 dlcs, Together is main product now.
Regular don't starve can't have multiplayer content implemented, there's too much difference between versions.

DST also has an “alone mode” where you can play singleplayer. It’s also been in development for a while, while original Don’t Starve closed development years ago. Really, it’s the ‘sequel’ to Don’t Starve and not the ‘multiplayer version’.wow... that is extremely disappointing.

I don't know what that was but it wasn't us. We didn't push a new live update of anything at all.
