IC Thousand Stars

(It doesn't have stealth features, beyond the fact it doesn't really produce much heat emissions outside of active thrust or weapons fire. (And even that doesn't come from actual stealth tech))
(good to know)

The small town’s orbital scanner would pick up the ship, it didn’t appear hostile in any way, but a welcoming party was still going to be dispatched.

Mach received this info from his friend, the Bartender, waking him up. He had fallen asleep by the rocks, his face was cold and dawn was just about to break.

He was torn about where he should be, but he decided to be the welcoming party in case the new ship landed.

The ship would attempt to establish comms with something (general, not specific) on the planet. The signal would be a bit different from what's normal for this world.
(Btw, how specific are the scans?)

(rather vague, it just scans for anything bigger than the size of a person in the atmosphere systematically, then it just probes for a signal on said objects. If it gets one, it waits for a response, if it doesn’t, it assumes it’s just space debris and if it’s small enough, just assumes it’ll burn up in the atmosphere. It really can’t tell the difference between an armed ship and a transport vessel visually.)

<*This is the general communications of planet Achilles - 9CT. Please state your intentions and any sort of on-board weapons you and your ship may possess before getting any closer, ignoring our signal will lead to a few more promptings before we deploy our anti-aerospace division to your location.*>

<<This planet and this system have not been at these coordinates before. Furthermore, we have no record of them ever having existed. However our intent is simply to stop in orbit for maintenance.>>

<* That’s a common answer we receive. The Stellaris barely found us during their sweep. We almost entirely evaded them. The Stellaris don’t tend to share.. so really only them and us know of our existence. We would still like to request a single member of our aerospace patrol come and see what’s happening, our sensors aren’t amazing, so we have no way of telling exactly what’s happening. If you give us 15 minutes, we can be up in orbit and take a minute or two just to make sure nothing fishy is going on.. sorry for the extra precautions.. we don’t have visitors often..*>

The ship would remain in orbit.
<<If you wouldn't mind, we do have some questions for you, regarding the things you've said.>>

<* By decree of the Stellaris, this must be recorded from here onward, some questions may overall have to be avoided. Do you accept to the terms? *>

<<We accept to the terms. Our first question is, is the Stellaris your government or an equivalent to one?>>

<*The Stellaris are our superior race and rulers. They came from across the galaxy to liberate our worlds from their own cruel governments. No worlds were avoided within this area. They plan to slowly advance and gain more planets into their empire. Perhaps if you reside nearby, your planet will be lucky enough to fall under the rule of the mighty Stellaris!*>

the man’s words felt rather.. forced..

<<We'll take that as a yes. Secondly, how is it possible that, despite us having been at this location before, we've never encountered this system or any of its planets until now?>>

<*Sadly, I am unable to answer this question, I am not authorised. Perhaps you missed us the first time? We are a small system after all, and this is the only planet with any life on it.*>

<<That doesn't really add up, but that's probably the best answer we'll get from here. We have no more questions.>>

@Razor_Typhoon
Both Payloader and VAR.3 give off a sigh, and a slightly maniacal chuckle.
"I have not eaten in days..."
"Riches or anything close to food? Ores? Damn, I'm hungry."

<*We apologize for the inconvenience, perhaps you would like to meet with some Stellaris representatives? If so, please ask, we could direct you towards the center of their empire where a better talk could be held, yet again, I’m not authorized. Our Aerospace patrolman is nearly there.*>

A very old and obviously repurposed small transport vessel was slowly nearing the ship, being within visible range now.

<<That won't be necessary.>>
The ship would appear to be a corvette, they would never have seen a ship of the exact class, nor have any records of one. It appears to have suffered a fair bit of damage, at least to the hull, which would however appear to be fixing itself.

The patrol vehicle stopped a few hundred feet from the other ship, an older man in a basic suit with a basic SPS (self propulsion system) and a small older model laser pistol began slowly approaching the other ship he reached the side of the ship and began looking for a way in.

Well, port side has what was actually built to enter and exit, the person could also try to get in through the damaged hull, although that would be an extremely tight squueze and unlikely to succeed.
