Hey, thank you for clicking this thread. My question has to do with the Angler NPC and how he gives out rewards. I am trying to get the Golden Fishing Rod, but I'm not sure how the Angler NPC tracks quests. For example, if I make a world and do 30 quests between different characters will I then get the Golden Fishing Rod? Or do I have to do all 30 quests with the same character and turn them into the same Angler NPC? Thanks in advance for any help

im pretty sure that it has to be same character, same world.

I get the same beginner prizes whenever I start a new playthrough, so I assume it at least has to be one of the two.

It has to be same character, idk about same world.
Fishing progress is tied to the character. The world doesn't matter. You can use the same character and accumulate fishing progress throughout multiple worlds.
The Angler also has some dialogue that will tell you how many quest fish you've given him.
