Hi guys, I'm working on rebuilding the old Class Based RPG Mod found here: tModLoader - Class Based RPG Mod
I'm hoping that @Hiccup251 and @Jofairden won't have an issue with this. Also, if @Tunnel King wants to reopen the old thread and get rid of this one that would be fine if that's the policy.
I might need a bit of help getting some of it to work. If anyone is interested please message me! Currently I'm working on getting the code up to 1.4 standards before solving some of the issues that I'm having.
I will try to fix as many bugs as possible but as far as I'm concerned the mod is FEATURE COMPLETE and I will not be adding anything new. This is strictly a porting job. If someone else wants to take over after to add new features and whatnot then by all means!

Have you tried contacting @Jofairden or @Hiccup251 for permission to use their work? We would require that if you were wanting to make this a publicly available mod.

@Tunnel King I haven't heard back from either of them yet. @Jofairden hasn't logged in since 2021 and @Hiccup251 hasn't been around since 2017. What do I do here?
Jofairden can be contacted on the tModLoader Discord (Join the tModLoader Discord Server!). He doesn't log in everyday, but if he's the only remaining maintainer of the mod he would have to make the decision if you can port it or not. You might be able to recruit others as well in the Discord, since most modders are there.
It's also worth noting the rules regarding updating mods in situations like these (if you do not get a response from Jofairden):
Do not use content from another mod, or that you do not have the right to, unless the mod is an update to a previously abandoned mod, and it meets the below requirements:
- Updating may only take place if the creator cannot be contacted at all, and has been offline from the forums for more than one year. For mods developed by a team, it must not be possible to reach any member of the team.
- No changes are allowed to be made to the mod, other than what is needed to update it to the latest version of tModloader and/or Terraria. Changes include modifications, balance changes, additions and removals.
- The updated mod's name needs to be the same as the original (minor changes to indicate the new version are permitted, for example adding "Updated" as a suffix). Where possible, the new name should also include the original author's name.
- It must be made extremely clear in the mod thread and description that this is simply an update, and credit to the original mod creator and a link to original mod thread must be given and must be displayed prominently.
- None of the original mod assets can be used for anything other than the mod (don't incorporate the abandoned mod's assets into your own).
- The updated version will be removed if at any time the original mod creator notifies us that they wish for it to be removed.
