I am still vouching for a mechanic where the animatronics look "normal" most of the time but there are times in which they take on their "nightmare" form. Maybe making them more aggressive and move through building faster.
I could see that. It definitely wouldn't be benieth Scott to add that sort of mechanic. Only thing is that we haven't seen any normal looking animatronics as of now. We'll just have to wait and see what Scott shows us next.
If I am right then he is going about this wrong. Something like this is better left in the dark. As of right now we have seen decent bits of these "nightmare" animatronics which gives us exposure to them before we are supposed to be scared of them. We are seeing the faces (or at least) part of the faces of the things we are supposed to be scared of which will make them far less scary.

Yeah, that makes sense. Although, all we see are still images. Once we see them in action it will be totally different. In the other games, it wasn't so much the robots that caused the fear, it was the atmosphere, the paranoia, the fear if the unknown that did it for me.
