Standalone N Terraria Mod: RPG, Races, Classes, Quests, and other things.

I think it might've been Terraria Avalon. I am not sure, though, it just sounds like something that would be in that mod.
 
The 2 skills youre supposed to unlock at level 5 Basic Abilities doesn't get unlocked.

and is there any way to respec

For Mage which skills should I get? right now it seems that Mana buffs and Waterbolt is the best way to go

Also what would be considered T2 of mage.

I would go with Magic Experience and Mana Boost for the damage and mana, and the Water shield for some defense. Offensive abilities from classes seem to fall off pretty quickly - even by mid game their damage will be negligible - while the percentage based buffs will still be useful.

Currently there is no T2 variant of Mage in NT6, so unless you want to wait until he does implement a T2 Mage class, I would suggest going with either Templar if you want some tankiness (max health ability), or Warrior if you want more offensive power (mounted damage increase). Keep in mind that if you take dual-wielding on Warrior, it messes with the tempo of some magic weapons (it's especially atrocious on Last Prism once you get it).

I did some testing and the best damage-dealing skill for mage is definetly Water Bolt with the +0.25 damage every level. ( it was the only skill dealing about 1300+ Damage ) However, it got absolutely crushed by demon scythes which topped at 2500+ Damage. ( As a level 30 Mage )

Bug Report: Killing mobs with any skill, does NOT grant quest progress.
 
I think that's how it is, since it isn't tied to by a weapon or a summon buff. It's some funky stuff that you gotta add in yourself, so that probably wasn't added.

I'll kill a boss with a ranger skill to see how it is (Since I got a wet sniper skeleton on 14th branch and got myself a sniper rifle this early on)

Maybe Nakano changed something. It's been a while since I played the mod last time, but I try to follow the updates... I might've missed something.

That, or you forgot to drag them into skill slots.
 
Might be that, didn't even know that there were slots, where are they ? Lol...

Hold the LMB on the skill pictogram, and then drag it into the slot. If I am not mistaken - you are supposed to place it precisely into the slot.
And, if you didn't put any points into the skill - it won't work.
 
I put points in the skill but have no skill slots.. o_O' Aren't they supposed to be on the bottom right of the screen ? Nothing there

Can you upload a screenshot of your game? With skill tab opened.
