Switch NPCs not settling in switch

So ive built several valid houses on my world and ive been on this world for hours upon hours but npcs have stopped spawning past the nurse. I dont know if i have to beat osme sort of boss or something but it isnt even saying they want to settle.

NPCs typically have some sort of requirement to spawn beyond just an available house. Some have an inventory requirement (certain items in your inventory), some require beating a boss, some require having a certain number of other NPCs, some have to be "found".
