Terraria State of the Game - June 2023

The new character creation stuff looks really cool, but I'm struggling to think of what the other 3 voices would sound like.
 
An addition I would really appreciate at this point in the game would be some sort of UI or indicator to show the total as well as the currently occupied number of minion slots. Counting them by hand every time makes me feel like my eyes are going to pop out! And I'll finally be able stop spamming my staffs like a maniac...

Hope this idea can still be considered! I think it'd be really helpful and clear up a lot of confusion for Summoners!

Someone made an idea for what this would look like! Sprites - Remove the Mana Cost for Summons and Add a Minion Slot Counter
 
One feature of base game terraria I am sorely missing would be to have better editing of grave and sign's text boxes.
We can copy-paste from one sign to another, but we've made a typo and now've gotta go and delete half of it to fix it.
 
Sorry to ask but would it be possible to get something similar to the purification towers from Otherworld in the game? I know that the Terraformer is a thing but even post-moonlord I feel like it's annoying having to dig down every 90 blocks just to clean up extensive damage to the world.

no, i don't think so, sadly
 
Melee needs a boomerang, the most powerful boomerangs are currently only Golem tier, and other types of melee weapons are already represented in the Lunar tier (well, spears aren't either, but I think Daybreak could be given a secondary spear-type attack mode if necessary).

Ranged already has bows, guns and launchers represented in the Lunar tier, so it needs a dartgun indeed.

Mage is so unique that it could be anything, I agree.
Doesn't the Zenith technically function like a boomerang already?

Now that I get a better look at last month's whip, it kinda looks like an eel. Very cool.

Edit: Welcome Vasculash, that makes 6 whips this update now. Very happy \o/
I notice they have pretty... different physics in those gifs. Wonder if that's intentional...
Also, surely this all means at least one new minion too :p
I hope you get it from fishing im kind of adicted to it
 
Could you add a latency counter to the fps counter when playing in multiplayer, add a reforge power to the journey mode power menu, make boss icons on the map visible with 0 transparency

I just hope in the next update(1.4.5) we get this hyper specific change… please let us place doors on upside down hammered blocks. It’s a small change but I’d just love to be able to hammer the block below and above the door so it’s a slope and not just a full block all of the time.
 
Reason I say true melee is because the ones we already have are both pseudo-melee throwables. Maybe something like a yoyo?

Vortex Launcher may shoot explosives so I was kind of iffy on saying launcher, but its ammo is still bullets so I included launcher just because of that. Dart gun would be more interesting certainly.
I should have clarified that I'm counting Moon Lord drops as part of the Lunar tier, since most of them aren't really a direct upgrade from the weapons crafted from lunar fragments (only exception being Vortex Beater and SDMG).

For melee, Moon Lord drops two swords and a yoyo. They don't directly outclass a Solar flail, and a Solar javelin (that could easily reworked to have a secondary spear-like mode if necessary, as I said), since they work differently. A boomerang is the subtype of melee weapon missing.

For ranged, Moon Lord drops a gun and a launcher. The Vortex bow isn't directly outclassed, with only the Vortex gun being outclassed by the SDMG. Each one uses a different type of ammo. That's why I said a new Vortex weapon should be a dartgun: none of the other Lunar weapons uses darts currently.

For magic, each weapon is so unique that they don't outclass each other.

For summoner, Moon Lord drops two sentries. They don't directly outclass the two Stardust minions, since they have a completely different function. In fact, adding a Stardust whip and a Moon Lord whip wouldn't necessarily mean than the latter outclass the former. The Firecracker is used by summoners long after new whips become available, because of its unique multiplicative boost to damage (as opposed to the additive boost to damage used by other whips).
